Default How's this workout regimen sound? :\

So since I'm no longer dancing, I figured I'd use my free time to hit the gym after my day job.

I have minimal weight loss goals. 10-15 lbs. I already eat healthy I'm just not terribly active.

Here's my plan, tell me what you think:

Every day - multivitamin + CLA Tonalin + Milk Thistle (I know many of you sneer at CLA but I actually saw some results with it the last time I used it)

Every other day - 20-30 minutes of light to moderate weights, each time focusing on a different muscle group (Arms/Torso one day, legs/glutes the next, that sort of thing) + 10-15 minutes of cardio

Every other day in between weight workout - 30-45 minutes cardio on elliptical machine. I have bad knees, so after about 10 minutes on a treadmill I can't take anymore. My joints can go all day on an elliptical though

Every day I work out - 10-15 minutes in hot dry sauna after workout for muscle relief.

And of course I'll be taking at least 2 days off a week to rest.

Then I had a question as well - I keep hearing that if I want to tone, the key is low weights, high repetition. I use about 10lbs for arms, and about 20-30 lbs on legs, 40-60 lbs on back and abs, and I do at least 30 reps. Does this sound good at least to start off on??

Sounds ok to me. Yes, low weighta high reps build endurance rather than strength, although you do need to make sure you use heay enough weights to actually make your muscles work sgnificantly. Most women fear buolding muscle so use very light weights but they are too light to actually build any muscle (toning the muscle requires building it to a slight level). So make sure you are struggling for those last few of the 30 reps, if you're not use heavier weights - i promise you won't look like a man!

The eliptical is your friend - i rarely run these days - let the elipotical take the strain - plus bonus arm movement and if you do it right abdominal tensing will work out your abs! woo-hoo!

I personally find saunas too claustrophobic but if you enjoy it thengo ahead. A long hot bath has the same effect.

I can give you a fairly easy workout regimen that WILL make you lose weight AND sculpt/define your body at the same time, and it does not include a lot of cardio, it's an intense free weight workout that raises your heart rate, if you're interested PM me and I'll write it out and email it to you. This is how I lost all my weight (15-20 lbs)

You can say that again.. not just on here but men in general. Guys are so damn lame, the only way they can halfway make up for it is by opening their wallets.
