Here's a link to last Thursday's Denver Post:

It's an interview with the owner of Shotgun Willie's. Mildly interesting.
My question to the board: the author uses the term peeler twice in his intro. I've seen him use it in print before, but never anyone else. Does anyone, anywhere, use the word "peeler" ? Is this his way of showing he's a downtown kinda cat, hip to the lingo? Is it a linguistic relic from Damon Runyan, or the days of Carol Doda? Or is "stripper" maybe too controversial for a family newspaper so a euphemism is needed?
Thoughts?
