Default Buying a coffin: online or instore

Well at least this doesn't involve using human remains for drug paraphenalia :p
I have a couple of major shoots coming up and I wanted to invest in a coffin, plus I have some personal reasons for wanting one. I hear Wal-mart now markets coffins online, but the thought of ordering one from a retail conglomerate doesn't sit well with me. I'm toying with the idea of having one custom made. Then there is the practical aspect. For all I know there is some tedious law that prohibits private ownership of coffins. I think having one custom made is more meaningful. My ex GF and I used to sleep in her coffin and it was very comfy
Anyone have any practical advice on making coffins or buying?

You are weird. I don't mean that in a nasty way, because I'd love to hang out with you, just you are far from boring, that's for sure.

Anyway, no idea about your question, but I know the rock band KISS marketed coffins.

^ REALLY!!! Cool That's something I would love! Kinda like Martha Stuart's signiature line for Kmart, but much cooler! And I take being called wierd as a compliment don't worry
If I wasn't being called wierd I'd start to worry.

As odd as this sounds, my family has multiple "family coffins". I kid you not... we've actually had it & some other family "traditions" in the news multiple times. The oldest family coffin my eldest brother has. We built ours from scratch. Nothing fancy, just cut out the shapes & painted them black.

If you don't want to build it yourself, then look online through Google shopping. Apparently Costco sells them:

For the price, & since I don't think you plan to actually be buried in it, you could probably have a super comfy one made for you. I'd suggest looking into prop makers.
    Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

If you're gonna fill it with dirt from your homeland, don't bother getting it fitted with all those cushions and pillows.
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

Maybe from Ireland but I'm not gonna get myself killed for dirt from Mexico.

I use to have one but sold it to a friend, I been thinking of making a few more just for kicks but I need to first upgrade my workshop. I like my custom, and real materials. If I had to store buy I would have to see it in person before buying.

Do you know anyone who works for a funeral home? When I had a photoshoot, a friend of mine who worked for a funeral home gave me a coffin for a rockbottom price ($75, it was a $500 coffin), because it had gotten scraped on shipping. Perfectly serviceable and looked great for the shoot, but they couldn't sell it to customers. It was great, very uniquely styled and different looking.

You might want to check with any local funeral homes if they have any they can't sell to "normal" customers.
