Default Vegas clubs dead lately - here's why

Apparently the cab drivers - aka pimps- have been taking guys to reflexology places, instead of strip clubs-- telling the guys that they would get a happy ending. The guys just got ripped off of course.

I am just so amazed that they actually busted some pimps. It's a Las Vegas first.
Now maybe they can start focusing on the johns that scream at any female who weighs less than 300 pounds simply for walking down the street. Or the johns who proposition every stripper in every club in Las Vegas every single day.
But that would mean that Gillespie would actually have to focus on busting criminals and not just women.

Here is a quote from an interesting article about "men who buy sex" The study was conducted in England.

    http://www.prostitutionresearch.com/

"Asked what would deter them from using women in prostitution, the men’s responses suggest that there are a number of equally effective alternatives. These include being added to a sex offender register, prison or being publicly exposed via billboard, newspaper, Internet or letter to family or employer. Higher fines, greater criminal penalties and having their driver’s licence suspended or their car impounded would also deter these men from buying sex, if they were convinced that laws and penalties would actually be enforced. Being required to sign an Acceptable Behaviour Contract (ABC) or receiving an Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) would, according to this study’s interviewees, serve as a deterrent to approximately three out of four of these men If I’d get in trouble for doing it, I wouldn’t do it. In this country, the police are fine with men visiting prostitutes.”

One man suggested that the reason the laws are not enforced is that “the big guys that make the law all see prostitutes themselves. The bosses of the world are not going to make it difficult for themselves to see a prostitute, to break the law. They’re not going to make the law too hard on themselves. The biggest criminals are the ones in the suits.”

Holmes (2009) has discussed evidence for the role of political corruption in facilitating trafficking for prostitution."

Wow! I'm a wee bit surprised to hear this. I just spoke with a cab driver over the weekend about all the clubs being slow and he said the cabs are slow too. He also said that some of the under cover hookers (dancers) have a cab driver tell the potential customer who to ask for when they're being taken to a club.

Funny I've heard more than one customer in the past few weeks tell me they have been taken there and got grossed out and ripped off before finding their way to the stripclub

Here is the most important thing for Vegas girls to learn from these arrrests

Those who were arrested were charged with

various crimes relating to fraud and obtaining money under false pretenses.

What this means is that the cops will probably be hanging out in strip clubs trying to arrest strippers for this same thing. Be very careful about what you say to guys about the VIP.

I had a friend tell me that the best thing to say if you think you are dealing with a guy who is asking too many questions about the VIP- Tell him the vip is a separate room off of the main floor where you get unlimited dances for a set period of time- !/2 hour or an hour. You can also do 3 songs for 100. Be super careful about selling vip.
Sheriff Gillespie is a hard core male chauvenist and he will be in office until November. He has no intention of going after the men who take advantage of and abuse women in poverty. He is all about arresting the women who are being exploited. Not the guys who try to exploit them. Notice that they did not put any of the pimps on the cover of those who were arrested? Notice that there were no arrests of the men who tried to solicit these women for prostitution - which is illegal.

You will need a $200 business license too.

Do you realize that Las Vegas has the highest unemployment in the country?

This morning on the channel 8 news -The Shade Tree homeless shelter said that 70% of their residents have never been homeless in their life until this summer. We have people living in the underground flood tunnels because there is no room in the homeless shelters. One of ladies living in the flood tunnel worked at a major casino for 21 years. Now days most of the homeless people out here are not substance abusers.

If you come out here be careful that you don't get stuck. I see girls coming out here every day not making their house fee back. I'm not saying this because I'm afraid of competition. Even the girls who are on the billboards are not making $$. I'm not joking, it's really bad.

Coming out to Vegas to dance now days is the equivalent of saying I'm going to LA or NYC to be a movie star. Don't be naive.

Great posts loren! I made the mistake of moving to Vegas for a few months last year, and I was shocked at how horrible the money was. Tons of girls, high house fees and tip outs, and tons of broke guys who spent nothing. The most I made in one night was 600 and that was a lucky break from one random rich guy at a dive bar.
Otherwise, I couldn't scrape together enough to even buy food. I'm lucky I had a friend willing to pick me up and take me back to Cali to live with her. Cali is VERY bad money-wise..but in my exp. Vegas was even worse.
Oh and not to mention I got a 500 dollar ticket for my nipple accidently brushing a custys (vice cop's) face and sitting in his lap for more then 5 seconds. The city needs money and they're trying to get it from ticketing dancers.
I hope girls that are planning to go to Vegas and make "big money" read this thread and re-consider. You're better off staying in your hometown!

okay...only because i've been curious about dancing in vegas...

i'm not turning to las vegas in hopes to get rich or because that's where strippers go to bank...
what if i just want to switch up my surroundings? i'm happy making $300-$400 in a night. i'm not interested in staying in my boring-ass, played out hometown...but i also realize that no one's making "big money" anywhere right now.

I have thought of moving out of my apt and renting a room so I can save money to get out of here. Most people I talk to are trying to get out.

$300-$400 a week maybe unless your turning tricks or you might get lucky one night maybe. You will be too broke to be bored out here.

32 girls got arrested last week at one club on a Friday night. Last week I talked to 2 girls who are on food stamps now and they were telling me where to go. (neither one of them has kids) I have never had to do that before. I know it's nothing to be embarrassed about because a lot of people are having a hard time now. But still it freaks me out. I keep hoping that it will get better but it hasn't. And ya the fees and tip outs are very high out here and there are a handful of custys and a million girls. A lot of those custys won't buy dances because the level of desperation is so intense. They just try to convince the girls to have sex with them. I've never seen anything like this in my life. These girls out here are very good sales people and very good looking so it's not like we are afraid of competition. But there just aren't many custys to compete for. The number of local girls who have recently started stripping is VERY high because we have the worst unemployment in the country. Anyone who comes out here had better be sure that she has a way to get out.

Yeah I left June 26th. It's been a loooooong journey! Phoenix, Austin, Winston-Salem/Greensboro, Cocoa Beach, Sarasota, Clearwater, Tampa ... and I'm on the road again! I'm emotionally exhausted and totally ready to find a place to call home!

Ugh, I hate cohabitating ... but sometimes it's necessary to be able to get ahead financially. If you can handle roommating that will be good.

If I remember correctly you want to go to Portland?

I wish you the best of luck sweetie!

It would be my dream to move to NYC but the nicer clubs all require long dresses which I don't like. I would like to go to Seattle but I hear that they have had problems out there. I have thought of Austin but I hear that's not to good either right now. I'm not sure if I have the stage skills for Portland. I am more of a lap dance and VIP person. As for now I am just going to have to figure out how to make it work. Plus anywhere I go I have to consider my cat. When I moved out here I did not have an animal which makes moving much easier.

I didn't like gowns either, but w/ the right gown it's actually pretty nice. I felt like a slutty lady ... LOL.

There's numerous threads on SW re: NYC. I remember good info earlier this year ... research here if you haven't yet.

Seattle is a dead dog. Earlier this year there was a thread about the happenings there. Girls were having to commute to OR to work. It's utterly tragic. So cross Seattle off your list.

I didn't work when I was in Austin ... didn't like the city, but I drove to the 3 top clubs in the afternoon around 3pm on a Tuesday. Perfect10 had at least 30 trucks in the parking lot (like guys who were in after work). I felt it was a good indicator the mid shift might be decent, but didn't look inside. Rick's (across the highway) didn't have that many vehicles ... a guy came out as I was driving through and he said the inside is beautiful. I didn't like the area Yellow Rose is located ... felt ghetto and the outside of the building was ugly ... the parking lot was kinda empty. If I don't like the area or the outside of the building I won't even bother checking out the happenings. So ... IMO Austin is a city worth considering ... and you can always go to Dallas while in TX.

I have my cat too. Since I started in Phoenix last year I've been living out of the Extended Stay Hotels the past year from city to city. They allow pets ... I think it's $30 per day w/ the max fee of $150 (this rate I know for sure because it's what I've been paying) regardless how long you stay. Although the last location I stayed at in Clearwater, FL I didn't want to pay the $150 so I sneaked her in the side door of the building ... LOL ... they never knew. I didn't know how my cat would do on the road trip ... she had her moments but overall she did really well. I did however have to sneak her into certain motels when I had to sleep over night to get to my destination ... some parts of my road trip were either 2 days/1 night or 3 days/2 nights to get to my destination. Extended Stay *sometimes* will have better rates then you see online ... best to call and ask re: weekly and monthly. NOTE: re: monthly ... some of the locations have what is called Long-Term-Lodging ... this is the BEST rate BUT you're ususally bound to a min 2 month stay and you have to pay the fist month upfront. The first month is taxed (usually 11%) and the second month tax is waived (at certain locations) and every month thereafter (depending on location) ... double check when making reservations. Another option w/ certain locations is called Month-Stay ... it can reduce the weekly rate anywhere from $50-$60 and the upside is you only have to pay 1 week in advance ... then pay weekly. If you check-out before a month is up, they revert the rates back to the weekly rate. Hope this all makes sense. Any questions just let me know. Happy to help you anyway I can

Are you talking about the Rhino? I heard they made arrests on 2 consecutive days. Girls were fined $1000 and were given criminal records Some of these girls were known to be dirty though..

It's bad everywhere right now. I have children so I can't just pick up and move. However, I have a lot of friends I made over the years and they are everywhere...Miami, LasVegas, NYC, Pittsburgh, Atlanta....no one is doing well. The upscale gown clubs are actually doing worse. In the dive bars you get alot more $1 tips when you do the dollar parade. You can make $200 a shift without doing one dance. If you do dances you can make $3-400. That is more in ONE DAY than most average people make in a week. I was working 47 hours a week at $13 an hour and bringing home $410 a week. So as much as we all want to make $1000 a night, it's just not realistic. But if you have worked regular jobs such as wal-mart, mcdonalds, Subway, etc, then you appreciate still being able to make $2-400 a night with ease and not being on your feet all night. I do a stage set, then a lapdance or two, then I sit 30 minutes or so til my next set.

I would never pick up and move and pay more rent to go to a city to make maybe $300 more a WEEK. It's just dumb. You're better off making regulars at your club, or switching up clubs in your area to make new girl money for a bit before going back to your old club.

^^ This thread is 5 years old lady, and I'm breaking $1000 around twice a week working 4 days. It's improved a LOT, in most places. But I was in LV during the fallout in 2010 and it was super scary.

^^Thank you so much for this. I'm in New Orleans and it's horribly dead during the summer + I really want to go back to school, just not out here. I was considering moving to LV (I want to settle out west anyways after college) but when I started researching how the pay as a dancer typically was, I stumbled upon this dispairing post and began to freak the f**k out...that is until I saw your comment. Thank you so very very much.

Also thinking about moving to vegas. Never been there but my grandma lives there and I would love to try Vegas out cause it's been pretty depressing and slow in Hawaii.
