    Default Raw Food Books

I want to incorporate more raw foods into my diet. Can anyone recommend good books on eating raw?

For a totally comprehensive, very well-researched look at raw foodism + some recipes: http://www.amazon.com/Live-Food-Fact...1938420&sr=1-4 This book is pretty essential!

For a more touchy-feely less-scientific approach with good recipes and diet plan: http://www.amazon.com/Raw-Food-Life-...1938384&sr=8-1

A radical branch of the raw food movement that's important (I've been incorporating green smoothies into my diet and really feel like they make a difference. Once you find a recipe that works for you, they're an easy and extremely healthy thing to add): http://www.amazon.com/Green-Smoothie...1938451&sr=1-1

For the worst cover ever, but lots of recipes (for me, the recipes are hit-or-miss...just as with most raw food books. But these recipes are, at least, simple. You don't need to go to Whole Foods every day to make the recipes in here): http://www.amazon.com/Raw-Food-Made-...1938566&sr=1-1

These are the books I've gotten so far. The raw food diet really is all about finding what works for you and what doesn't. So some of these recipes will make you go whereas others are really good...

I purchased this book: The Complete Book of Raw Food, Second Edition: Healthy, Delicious Vegetarian Cuisine Made with Living Foods (The Complete Book of Raw Food Series)

I just started making some of the appetizers in the book as well as using it as a reference for my own creations and I am really impressed. I have a few recipes that I could send you if you would like to try a couple.

YES please do! If you start a thread of raw recipes I'd love to jump in and add some.

Oh and I didn't see this mentioned -- Raw Food, Real World is a great recipe book. Whatever your feelings on the slightly irritating Sarma Melngailis are, her restaurant makes some amazing things.

Ditto the advice to get any Ani Phyo books. She's great. I particularly love Ani's Raw Food Kitchen

Super-loved and crazy-haired guru David Wolfe has revised his book about raw food for beauty. It's pretty damned good: http://www.amazon.com/Eating-Beauty-...5620651&sr=1-1

And I'd recommend hanging out on some raw sites. Give it to me Raw is fantastic, and if you can wade through the rampant fruitcakery, you'll find some good information.

I've wanted to try this program (week long to month long) that teaches you about the raw food lifestyle...juicing, sprouting etc. It's very affordable too. They have two locations: San Diego and Austin. And now Internet is available in select rooms LOL

^ Just buy a few books and learn as you go!! Eat what tastes good and feels right, and the rest will take care of itself.
