    Default Dental Hygiene

This might be a sensitive topic but I need some advice. If a girl has some discoloration between her teeth, I am wondering if that is from poor hygiene, too much coffee, or something else.

Is it rude to ask someone why they have some discoloration between their teeth? How do you approach someone to tell them to fix it? I can imagine if you mention it, the other person might be offended.

I am sure the girls here see much worse in the guys, but unfortunately this is a turnoff for me as a customer.

Uh, yeah, it would be incredibly rude to say something like that to a stranger. If you do say something to her about it, I hope she smacks the shit out of you.

It is rude. I'm sure she is well aware of the way her teeth look, and is probably already self-concious about it. Just don't get dances from her.

Unless you plan on handing her a few thousand to get it fixed, then who the hell are you to TELL HER to get it fixed??

Stop being a shallow jackass.. If the only thing wrong with her is some teeth discoloration then I'm sure shes way out your league anyways.

I have been here long enough to know I was taking a chance posting this. My question should have been, how do you approach this subject, if at all?

lol, what the hell? I'm just curious... were you actually considering this? "Excuse me miss, but I really must profess, your teeth discoloration has severely disrupted my view of a perfect color scheme. Could you please remedy this situation?"

Don't get a dance from her. Then find someone who has the teeth you "like." Most likely, they are coffee, wine, or smoke stains. And I doubt she will change her personal habits for you. If you do approach it, beware.

It could be from a number of things: medicines she took as a child, consuming food/beverages that stain, poor hygiene, mal-nutrition.

I have some super white spots on my teeth... actually only one major one & no one seems to ever notice except myself & the dentist. Anyhow, mine are from going through anorexia as a child. I don't really worry about mine though, since like I said - people don't really notice unless I point it out.

My Mom smoked and took antibiotics during her pregnancy with me. I was born with enamel hypoplasia which caused permanent discoloration on my two front teeth that is fairly noticeable. No amount of brushing, perfect dental hygiene, or mouthwash will fix it. The only thing I can do is use whitening to make it less noticeable, which would run me like $1,000-1,400 out of pocket (not covered by insurance) depending on the place and the type of whitening I used. Crest Whitestrips aren't powerful enough to make a worthy difference in my case.

She could have enamel hypoplasia. I would be very offended if someone mentioned my teeth discoloration to me because I am well aware of it and it always makes the rest of my teeth look more yellow than they really are.

^^^ I have had mine whitened & it amazes me how much it makes the spots less noticeable! Of course, my spots are actually super white compared to the rest of my teeth... so I guess that helps.

Also, she may be in the situation i was in a few years ago, I had terrible brown spots on my teeth among many other dental problems, and didn't really have the money/insurance to fix it at the time. Don't "approach" her about it. I guarantee you she KNOWS her teeth aren't perfect.

i'm sure your appearance isn't exactly "perfect" either! stop being such a pompous ass! how would you like it if she started pointing out all of your flaws!? women are extremely touchy about this kinda of thing especially in the sex industry. do you really think you're the only one who has noticed her "flaw"? and people wonder why women get all crazy with plastic surgery and shit. i mean seriously. ugh.

I'm not sure what makes you think it's an appropriate subject to bring up. It's not just inappropriate in the club, it's socially unacceptable in any public setting.

If it bothers you that much, buy dances from someone else.

I'm in the same boat as her... unemployed due to lack of transportation and I have no dental plan. It's hardly noticeable but I'd gladly accept donations for teeth whitening.

Receding gums is my issue... runs in my family I'm afraid.

Oh, for the record... I also think it's not really an appropriate thing to say either. Unless, as above mentioned, you plan on making a donation.

I think the girls have it covered here. Even if you were going to offer her money to fix it; it is still rude to mention unless she brought it up. She has a mirror, she knows its there.

there's no reason to be so mean to him. he asked us what to do. it's not like he came here bragging about giving a girl shit for having bad teeth.

and no, it isn't good to mention it.

i get some discoloration between my teeth sometimes. nothing major. i think it's from tea. they were looking kinda gross, so i used a couple white strips, and now they look nice again.

is it something minor like that, or does she have serious tooth problems?

i've never seen girls hurt for money because they had bad teeth, so if it bothers you that much, just get dances from someone else. there are plenty of guys who'll look past it.

Mine are very white too, that's what I meant by discoloration.

Heres a hint though for any girls who do have dark discolouration (my sister had it due to antibiotics as a kid)... some dodgy dentists will put a sealant over the tooth... Our dentist kindly did her two front teeth when she was in high school (about 10 years ago) and they are still perfect white now. All covered by mom's dental plan... but sealants are a lot cheaper than whitening even if you have to pay. Plus lasts longer because it makes the tooth less porous.

^ but what would they look like under blacklights? as dancers, we've got to think about that.

i think there's something out there that actually makes teeth look black under blacklight.

the hottest guy i ever knew had some discoloration on one of his front teeth. possibly from antibiotics or something. man, was he ever hot. he could smile and you wouldn't even care about his discolored tooth, cos damn look how hot he is. lol. i don't think discoloration is a big deal, it's rotting that's gross.
