    Default The difference

Sooo maybe I'm a little confused. But I thought strippers danced sexy and slow and shit. But i see girls clappin they asses and bouncin em and lookin like they havin a seizure because they're dancing so hard. Yeh, they're mostly in the black clubs. Thank goodness I work in a mixed club I don't think i can do all that. SMH. But i hope I don't freeze when i get up on the stage.

I work at a club with all white girls and even the ones from the city do all that clappin, seizure, super fast whacked out dance. Some customers need a break from all that fast paced music/dance, thats when someone else comes out to mix it up a little and slow it down for a few songs. You dont want to be the same as everyone else, that is how you stand out.

I get sweaty on stage just from prancing back and forth, bending over, and swinging around the pole for a few minutes. I can't even imagine working in a club like that. I'd dehydrate within the hour.

I have felt really pressured to do this kind of stuff to make money in most of the clubs I have worked at. Thank god I work at a place now that it's such a mixed/variety that you don't have to be some amazing booty dancer to get tips.

I mean, to each their own....and I am not looking down upon that kind of stuff necessarily....but I just don't get it, it's not my thing. I don't find it sexy, personally....but there are alot of guys who do. So who's to say anyone is wrong or right, BUT....I don't get it.

I think the whole MTV pop-culture, hip hop becoming so mainstream has ALOT to do with it. Everyone wants to be a "gangster".....again, to each their own.

^word, growing up I took ballet, modern jazz and African movement. Can I shake and grind, yeah sure, but really people, I was trained in ballet and modern jazz will someone PLEASE appreciate this fact???? No, you'd rather just watch me jiggle like an epileptic *le siiiiiigh* ok. *jiggles*. Don't get me wrong I LOVE a good booty shake. I'm from the West Indies, bring on the dancehall moves but after a while it just gets stupid...

Hmmm... I've predominantly worked in black clubs and I can booty clap and stuff but I also do graceful pole tricks and blend in other styles of movement and I've never really had a problem. I think it's a stereotype that it's always like that from people who have never actually worked at a black club that you *have* to do all of these things to be successful.

Not every customer in a black club wants you to pop your ass or thinks he is a "gangster". Seriously there are plenty of black professionals, athletes and entrepreneurs that frequent black clubs (as well as white), as well as "gangsters" and rap musicians who adore sensuality as much as whites or people of other races. This whole perspective is narrow minded and ignorant. Not in the sense that ignorant means stupid, but in the sense that ignorant means "inexperienced". Until you've walked the walk you'll never make sense to someone who has and has seen that black doesn't always equal seizure-like ass popping. By no means is that the case, for what it's worth.

^ i'm sure you're right about sensual dancing working just fine in black clubs, that different guys like different things, and all that.

but i also know i've seen black girls bank in mixed clubs. like a club can have only three or four black girls working one night, but they'll all be in the top 10 earners. compared to the 60 white girls working that night.

so i don't think it matters all that much where a girl dances, unless maybe she's in a really, really segregated area where black clubs are her only feasible option. but i imagine those are the areas where black clubs embrace a wider variety of styles. around here, where black girls can work wherever, black clubs are pretty limited in what sort of style they like.

That's so true. But the club i work in is momstly white. It used to be a couple black girls that made hella money. But now it's like 7 of us working one night and about 10 white girls. It's hard to stick out. I talk to the customers and they like my personality and will chat with me for a while but when i go to ask for a dance they're like no thats ok I'm waiting on "so n so". That happenes alllll the time. So I've pretty much given up. :/ I'm thinking about working nights because i just got back into school and it fils up my whole day. Maybe the crowd is different at night.

All the clubs I've worked at have had girls with a huge variety of dancing styles, from super fast shaking, to pole tricks, to slow sensual posing and everything in between. I tend to move slowly at first, break out some pole tricks, and do a couple ass tricks at the tip rail, but it really depends on the music and my mood. I always leave stage sweaty, but that's also because I get so much out of dancing up there. It's really cathartic to me, so I do what I feel like doing at the time.

Having never worked at a predominantly Black club, I have nothing to contribute to the other part of this discussion. It IS very interesting, though.

I totally agree with you, I work in a mixed club as well, and now even white girls AND asians are clapping their asses. I hate the ass clapping and the quick jerky dance movements. I guess its a new trend but it really sucks, and funny looking. There is a black girl who can pop her butt muscles (terminology?) and it seems really cool that she can control the muscle groups like that it looks impressive and funny at the same time.

I can clap my ass and make it jiggle with my small asian/white booty but I don't - afraid to attract the wrong type of guy.

I'll take it with my hand and put it in their mouth instead to grab it with my own tits, and when few are offended and go "you want me to put a dollar in my mouth?" im like "oh so it's different for me? how do you like my motorboat bitch!" /rant
A lot of women come up to my stage with money in their cleavage. I usually go up to them, breathe in their ear while taking the dollar, and then wink at them when I pull away. I've never had complaints

My club is a big party club and we have mostly booty shakers/high energy pole dancers. It is fun, and I love watching all the amazing performers. However I prefer the slow sensual dancers, when I go out thats generally who I spend my money on. I dance slower as well, but if I could booty shake I would, b/c customers at my club do spend money for some ass shakin. Strippers are supposed to be sexy and sensual, to me. But with it being all mainstream and whatnot, people like the high energy shows. And they are hard to please! Esp. with pole dancing becoming a popular class for women, it takes a lot of effort to get a crowd reaction. Luckily, the older gentlemen still prefer the slow sensual dancing, so there is hope for us
