    Default Hello from UK

I'm Val, I'm from Central England. I'm not a dancer, a former dancer or a wanna-be dancer (not until I shift 4 stone, anyway. Then maybe we can talk). I am a burlesque and belly dancer, and trying to get more confident with the idea of removing my clothes for paying viewers.

I'm also in the process of writing a novel with a stripper as a main character, so was hoping to glean some accurate insider knowledge on the art, rather than creating a hideous stereotype. So far I've found this site really helpful on getting a handle on how the clubs work, and all the different people who work in them, but I felt guilty just lurking, so wanted to come out and say hi.

I hope that's okay, I'll try not to get in the way!

Welcome to SW! I do burlesque as well. :-) Are you on MOB?
    Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

I'm not, no. I mainly do burlesque/bellydance fusion, rather than straight out burlesque, and I haven't ventured onto as many burlesque sites as straight dance sites. I really need to get out and more involved.

    WEelcome to the mad house.

I'm also a frustrated novellist (SF, not stripping) so I know what it takes to write a novel.

Hideous stereotype is what sells unfortunately. Publishers are in the business of making money, so unless you're writing something groundbreaking, they're going to go with what sells.

Hello to coke addicted, pimped out stripper.....
