Default Rednecks are the bastard children of society

So, at work, this Alabama bred bush loving republican tore into me for implying that bush put us into debt. He went on for a good 5 minutes and I just let him run his mouth until he was done, and when he was, he got up and left in such a state of anger it's like his eyes were glowing with the fires of hell

Opinions are like assholes, everybody has one. Not everyones opinions are nice, and yours is the only one that should matter. ever. Does that make me a bitch? Sure, but then again, that is MY opinion and I could give two shits if anyone agrees with me or not.

This is the perfect example of why I never talked politics with a customer unless they really wanted to, and even then I tempered my opinions.

The club is not the place to get into political debate.

This is true Nicole. However, if I remember correctly, he initiated the conversation. I can be rather opinionated and should have bitten my tongue regarding such a topic.

There was a time once, when I was in agreement with a republican. I wish I could remember what we agreed on exactly

It's best to just say "wow really, I did not know that" to what ever they say. Or "wow you know a lot about politics. I did not know that."
A few months ago, I actually sold a dance to a tea party cook because I did that. I have danced for republicans too. It's not easy playing dumb. Sometimes those people are sooooo dumb that it is really hard for me to pretend like I am dumber than they are. But playing dumb works. Giving you opinion only works if they have the same opinion as you do.
Last week I had a spoiled rich boy who was cheap and greedy as hell and I had to pretend like I admired him. I did not make much because rich people who given everything by mommy and daddy are soooo cheap and soo greedy. At least I made something though.

I live in an area with these rednecks (though I live an hour from Chicago) so I know exactly what you mean. I always avoided politics with customers because I've noticed many of the same ones who were the most chauvinistic towards women tended to be conservative Republicans. Not to say Democrats aren't like that or Republicans are, just that this was my experience.

I don't think I've had many converstions at work about politics with a custie who didn't want me to agree with him. I've come to think of it as just more ego stroking.

Exactly. I never argue politics with a customer. If they start off on it, I just nod all wide eyed like what they have to say is oh-so-enlightening. No matter how stupid it is.

unless they say something racist i keep my mouth shut. as an anarchist im not going to see eye to eye with most customers on politics.

but i do make political jokes. one time i dressed up as a naughty nurse and i was like "health care is really affordable these days. only 20$. can you believe that? " or during hte dance "isnt health care great?" or one time i was a naughty cop and i was 'interrogating' prisoners and was like 'yea, some people disagree with the way we handle our criminals these days.' most people found it funny,... i find you can get away with joking about politics as long as you keep it mild and light hearted.

but serious political conversations? unless it is used to build rapport with a customer or as a topic in the CR, i stay away.
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

Ugh, I need to learn to validate people. I just can't do it yet (even after 4 years in the biz). Maybe I'd make more money if I did, but I have problems keeping my mouth shut.

charlie, i'm not great at validating nonsense either, but when politics come up, and they go into a republican rant, i will just giggle (because the republican viewpoint is funny to me). hard to rant and rave when someone is giggling and half-naked next to you.

i once got into an argument about us foreign policy and its impact on the brazilian economy with a house mom. i was fired later that day. i'm not sure if these two things are related, but i found it awfully interesting.

Rednecks are the reason I want to move to the city.

Oh and if some guy wanted to vent like that I would have walked off after like 45 seconds.

Me too ^^ I hate discussing politics in the club with customers. Almost nothing could bore or annoy me faster.

because of the way i look (too exotic to appeal to the ones who like super-white girls, not exotic enough for the guys who like super-exotic girls), i don't tend to do very well with southern guys or republicans or libertarians. which is hilarious, because i'm southern and basically libertarian. northerners/liberals usually like me a lot more. they also tend to be a lot more open to me having opposing views and a personality. i also find them more optimistic and willing to spend more for less. but this is me, girls who are their type probably have noticed different.

one time i was talking to a guy who told me he was libertarian, and i started talking with him, knowledgeably, about politics and stuff. and before long it became really obvious that he wasn't interested in dances. he kept making comments about money, but in the way where it was obvious he wouldn't have spent if he had it anyways. the convo had turned more sexual. so i said:
me: yeah, irish guys always have the biggest dicks
    him: i'm not irish
    me: yeah, i know
he got all pissed off and left. like jeez dude. why would i kiss your ass once i know you're a jerk.

actually, my club interactions have had a big impact on my turn back to more anarcho-socialist politics and democrat-friendliness. you can tell a lot about people by how they treat strippers.

I love political debate! I only do it with people who are spending on me, because otherwise it's going to be a long conversation for no money (or only a little money). It's even better when you disagree but do so politely, and you both walk away with a better understanding of each other (and had a fun time).

You can NEVER talk politics in the dressing room. You will get fired. Most managers and club owners are likely to have a right wing world view. They will usually hire people who they think agree with their world view -- "anyone who does not have a ton of money is bad".

...Well, my clubs must be run by socialist pigs, then

Yeah, talking politics to a club owner isn't the best idea, but I work at a club where everyone on staff (besides one dj) and most of the dancers were all voting for the same person. During the months right before the election two of the girls went on stage as Cindy McCain and Sarah Palin, and I went on after them in my devil outfit

That is so funny. I think it's weird that anyone in the adult entertainment industry would be a right winger... but life is weird and people are too.

I think a lot of right wingers are people who have had disagreements with the IRS. Republicans always "say" they are against taxes and big government even though wars are run by the government and they are not exactly cheap.
