    Default Cardio

I am curious what ya'll think. I have about 50lbs to lose. Currently, i've been doing 50 minutes of turbo jam (kickboxing) workout and lifting weights for 30 min. This is my 2nd day of this routine. My question is.. is there 'too much' cardio? I plan to do 50 min. turbo jam 4x week.Is this too much? I am a serious clean eater (vegetarian at times vegan/raw). Thanks

It is certainly possible to do 'too much cardio' in the sense that if your overall calorie expenditure outweighs your calorie intake by too much you will start burning lean muscle instead of fat.

My trainer told me that there is such a thing as too much cardio, and that I only needed to do about 13 minutes in my workout. He said that you wouldn't work out your bicep for 30 minutes, so there's no need to do cardio for 30 minutes....I was like O.o?

BUTTT...It wasn't working. I wasn't losing weight or seeing any noticeable difference. I started doing 50 minutes of cardio/day and NOW I'm seeing real results. I feel like I'm actually getting a workout too.

So yeah, there is apparently a thing as 'too much cardio', but too much seems to be working for me...

Good luck with your weight loss girly! We can do it!

there is such a thing but you are definitely not overdoing it. They say 5 hours cardio a week for weight loss, but everybody says something different at the same time.

I think paying attention to what you consume matters the most.

And I meant that diet and exercise are both equally important.

I don't think you are doing too much. Just make sure if you start getting really tired to take a break. Gains are made while resting too.

No, I think you're doing just about the right amount. To lose weight, you need about 45-90 minutes a day of cardio.
