    Default How often do you work out?

    I've started running with my boyfriend, and I feel SO much more in shape now that I'm getting some cardio! But we've been working out every other day, and the days that I'm not running, I'm either stripping or working my other job where I'm on my feet all day. It's pretty rough on my body.

    How often do you work out, and what kind of exercise do you do? I'm especially curious about how you arrange your work out schedule around stripping. Is it hard to work out and then strip the same/next day? Is it something you've gotten used to?

    I work out 4-6 days a week normally. I also work out on days when I strip. My pole class is actually right before my shift starts on Fridays, so I go from there to work. I will work out for two hours-45 minutes cardio, 45 minutes weights, 30 minutes stretch and relax. Other days, 1.5 hours cardio only. Mix of elliptical, stair mill, kick boxing (turbo kick), and running when I do cardio.

    I don't right now because Im too chicken to start bouncing my boobs around after my surgery. But before I used to either go at 5pm or haul my ass out of bed and go at 12pm. I didn't find it made me too tired. I feel more tired at work if Im not in shape.

    I work out everyday.. Not much cardio... but squats, step ups, lunges, twists, Zumba (ok thats cardio but its fun)
    I mostly try to tone up and NOT lose weight...

    I run daily, but the distance varies.

    I haven't danced in quite a few years, but when I did, I exercised less because I had to do a lot of sets in the club.

    I do a high intensity free weight workout three times per week, and some low impact cardio and abs two times per week.

    i have a seriously lazy workout plan (or lack therof). i work my ass off on stage at work (even if its so empty you can see the tumbleweeds rolling by the bar...), i play on my pole at home for about an hour on nights that i dont work, i stretch EVERY day (so i dont injure myself on the pole again), and i run about 1/2 milewith my dogs (all three are over 80lbs each - 240 pounds of puppy! whew!) 3-4 times a week. and then i proceed to sit on my arse and read my romance novels... excercise that imagination, damnit! ;-)

    i workout twice a week and i live in the city so whenever i go some where i usually walk, if its within three miles.

    I try to maintain a balance between cardio and resistance/weight training. I think the former is great for burning fat, while the latter is brilliant for toning and building strength and muscle, which in the long run helps burn fat too. I work out about 2 - 5 times a week (I fluctuate a lot naughty).

    My fave kind of exercise is a relaxing jog/interval run aong the beach in the soft sand - fantastic for toning leg and butt muscles. Running up stairs is also really effective too. Plenty of lunges and squats for legs and butt, hold planks for as long as I can to strengthen core, pushups and bicep dips for arms.

    But the most enjoyable exercise for me is Pole Dancing... I've got my own pole so I work out at home but I've also done quite a few classes. At the moment Im training for a workshop with Alethea Austin in a few weeks - soooo excited! So im just trying to build my strength and master the advanced moves really quickly! Arrggh. Dont want to embarress myself in front of America's best pole dancer. (Especially since i have a little crush on her hehe)

    If your not sure what exercise would suit your body type or your needs and interests, its worth investing in atleast one session with a Personal Trainer. They can give you really useful tips and even organise an exercise plan for you to kick start your body blitz.

    As far as exercising when im working... I find that no matter how sore or tired or hungover I am following a big night at work, If i drag my but to the gym or do a yoga class, I feel so much better afterwards. But saying that, sometimes I think an intense night on the podium at work is enough of a workout to let me skip doing anything else

    During the summer, I worked out about 5 days a week, just because I wanted to see results quickly. Now that I've completely cleaned up my diet, I work out about once a week to maintain my body (with school, interning, volunteering, and work, working out is lower priority).

    I only ever run on the elliptical. It saves my knees. It's also 100% cardio so I don't bulk up on muscle (which my body will do very quickly and easily if I let it!)

    I guess I need to work out a little more. When I slimmed down before, I did running ( a mile or two ) everyday and just ate really well so I guess it's time to do that again in addition to dancing regularly. I had this idea that dancing would slim me down, but I guess only doing it 2-3 times a week isn't enough. I actually think I've gained weight since I started dancing regularly at the beginning of 2010 . So ... fitness gurus .... my plan to to eat pretty much half raw ( every meal I'll have some reg. food but half of the volume of food will be raw veggies ) and I'm going to do more intense runs now that it's cooler ( runs where I'm breathing way hard instead of just moderately hard ). Will this get rid of my little tummy ( I need to lose like 5 pounds on my belly / hips in particular but I realize only overall loss will show a slimmer core) .

    ^ I would recommend a low-impact cardio exercise, since you dance so often. Do you belong to a gym? Could you exercise on an elliptical?

    The first time I tried an elliptical, I was like "This isn't doing anything." But after about 10 minutes, I was sweating my assss off (you have to increase the resistance on the machine). It really helped me lose weight in my stomach area.

    I do Bikram Yoga 4-5 times a week. Even though it is a huge workout it makes me feel so amazing afterwards I never have a hard time making myself go. I would recommend it to anyone. It keeps me toned, flushes toxins, and really helps center my mind.

    Oh ... I could try this. I went to the gym around the corner from my house and they were trying to sell me a plan with a trainer + being vague about pricing ect. and I was like " I just want to use your equipment and have no one talk to me while I'm here , how much will this be .... lol" . They let me work out for free that day , but I still couldn't get a CLEAR answer our of the guy about what he wanted to charge me to work out month - month ( I'm too mobile to do a commitment with a gym ). Maybe I'll try him again - they do have ellipticals and it's super close me which is crucial .
    Hell ... maybe I'll just go buy his personal training package, tell him I'm a dancer , and tell him my goals. That might be a good way to get this handled.

    I train anywhere from 3-4 days a week...I can't go two days with getting my fix at the gym...I'm not as strict about it as I use to be..but my diet is pretty clean...I only drink water & I take in carbs as I need them which depends on my activities.

    every day that i am not stripping, which is like 4-5 days a week. i'll work out for 1.5 hours. 30 minutes on the stepper, 30 minutes ab routine including 1500 leg raises, squats etc.

    Never, really. I watch what I eat though, that's enough for me. I'm not really lazy, I just like my body the way it is. I like being thin, but still soft.

    4x a week.... 2 days cardio and total body with free weights, 1x a week hot pilates and one class usually bootcamp, zumba or bodypump
