Default Relocating to Texas or Wyoming

Im going to be relocating to Texas or Wyoming (Casper) Those are pretty much where my day job flourish. I also have a brother that will be there around the same time.

I cant take this no jobs anywhere and high cost of living California.

In texas I would be near Houston, but I would only make $18 starting off.
Is it worth it though?Ihate moving cross country.

I relocated to Louisiana and had a nice 2 br home 2 story.3000 sq ft and only paid 600 month. Lived in the nicest area. When Hurricane Katrina came I ran like a baby home to mom.Right now I have a 2 br. 1 story apt and pay 1200 a month. The area is ok. The pay out here (Cali) does not match the cost of living.

Le sigh. In my shoes what would you do?

I would go test the waters in Casper. I think there is some money there, maybe not as much as Houston... but a lot less pressure & competition.
    Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

Guessing from the locations (TX, WY, CA & LA) that you are in the oil/gas industry in the daytime. In WY the wages will keep up with the cost of living (housing is cheap vs major cities, all food must be trucked in unless you kill your own antelope), as Melonie sez it's one of the few areas with real private sector growth. Despite all green initiatives, we need nat gas to stay warm in the winter and we have to look for it where it is.

What you must decide, can you handle the climate there, esp in winter, if you are a CA girl? I'm from that area and it's not for everyone. (joke: how do you tell a Casper person? When the wind stops blowing, they fall over ) Can you drive in snow? But, "the skies are not cloudy all day".

Further reading between lines, are you thinking of working a 9-5 and then dancing for extra bucks? There are a couple clubs in Casper, I have been trying to check out but closed on 4th of July. I do know they're small, earning potential can't be great. And it's a small city, people you work with in the day will see you in your club.

If you're a dancer with a day job, obviously Houston is huge and you can keep your worlds separate. Don't know much about cost of living there, climate too hot and damp to suit me. If you want a break from dancing and would like to live on a 9-5 salary, you could make it in Casper for a while.
