    Default Theme Nights in Clubs

How do dancers feel about "theme nights" in clubs?

I raise the question based on my first visit to Stringfellows in Paris (since closed) a few years ago. On that occasion the theme was "Schoolgirl Uniform" and every dancer was dressed accordingly.

The spectacle of 40 or more beautiful babes wearing skimpy school uniforms was amazing. The extreme shortness of the skirts was particularly eye-catching, and the fact that some girls chose scanty panties rather than G-strings added authenticity to the "saucy schoolgirl" fantasy. Also, most of the blouses were at least one size too small, which accentuated the bustiness of the dancers.

All in all, a memorable sight. But do dancers prefer freedom to choose their own dress?

Obviously. I mean, how would you like it if your boss told you that from here on out you had to wear only pin-striped suits every day? It'd probably get pretty damn monotonous right? Now imagine they only had a couple of different pin-striped suits at your local Men's Warehouse and there was nowhere else to shop for them except online, but online NEVER fits your pecs if it does your waist.

What a cheeky and creative response.

I think a theme night once in awhile would be fun!

We have skits on the weekends at my new club, and it's awesome.
Gotta go on stage in tennis shoes last night...that rocked!

I didn't express myself properly at the end of my post, Princessjas - apologies.
What I meant to ask was this: if the theme for a night is "Uniforms", would dancers prefer to choose their own favourite, or go with the same look for all performers?

Anyway, it sounds like you won't be applying for a job as a Hooters hostess any time soon But that's another idea for a theme night....

I'd always want to pick my own uniform, because well, it's hella hard to just find a costume that fits me. Most sexy stuff is way to big for me and most stuff in the kiddie aisle isn't sexy. I'd figure most girls would want to pick their own. We kinda go to great lengths to NOT look like other girls. Variety is the whole appeal of SC's after all.

I would want to pick my own. In most situations I don't like looking like other girls.

It makes us all look alike. I worked in a club where we had a lot of theme nights and i constantly had to buy a new outfit, so i just avoided working them. I think its cheesy and I hate it.

I remember a local club once started going crazy with the theme nights, to the point where there was a theme practically every night. It really pissed a lot of dancers off, I know because a lot of them quickly moved on to our clubs. They resented being expected to spend so much on costumes. I remember one friend of mine was chastised for not looking "enough like a hooker" on pimps n hos night. She came over to my club and was livid- "Seriously? They want me to find a way to look MORE like a sex worker?!" I wouldn't work in a club that enforced costumes. As I've always said, if they want to treat me like an employee they can pay ME instead of the other way around. Until then, I'll decide how to dress myself.

Well said. I think they should have to pay a bonus, or at least 0 fees for those who come in "in uniform". If not, and you're an independent contractor, you have to use professional judgement and dress the way you think will net the most $$$.

Might be a good idea every once in a while.... With everyone in the same or similar outfits, dancers would have to rely on natural beauty and sales
skills which would weed out all those who don't need to be there. But Im talking from the perspective of someone who works in a large club

I loved theme nights but only when it still gave us the freedom to still dress differently. It was mostly the music that changed.

Thanks to so many people for responding to my first thread. I learned lots.

    Two further thoughts:
On the "Schoolgirl Uniform" theme night in Stringfellows, the number of table dances requested was WAY bigger than on a second visit (non-theme night). I guess it shows how visual we guys are, and how much we enjoy the spectacle of girls in uniform.

My ideal theme-night fantasy? A club full of "Naughty Nurses".

i don't know that i would like "theme nights" necessarily but "costume nights" every month maybe would be a blast. that would give entertainers the option to dress as whatever they want. i personally love dressing up, but NO ONE at my club does. maybe the occasional school girl skirt, but not full out costumes. i would love it.

If a club was noticeably holding theme nights whereon dancers had regularly to buy extra costumes (keep in mind that many dancers might use 3 or more changes in a night) and especially if the club was directing the girls to a particular provider of costumes, I might begin to question whether the club had some sort of contract or business connection with a provider of costumes.

All my dancer friends hated feature nights and theme nights to the point of not working them and the only theme I was interested in was whether the person I was interested in seeing would be there.

When I said earlier my fantasy theme-night was a club full of "Naughty Nurses", I should have illustrated the point - like this.

(And yes, I do like this, since you ask)

As a patron I like the idea of theme nights. I think there would be enough room for variations that they would not all look alike. However even before reading the replies I thought about the fact that dancers would not like the extra expense of the neccessary costumes. I know in my usual club, most of the girls stick to pretty much one go to outfit every night they work. I think that if there were a theme night the club should not charge a fee or tip out or whatever, for the girls that dress to the theme. I doubt the clubs would go for that idea though.

Well I worked in a club that had theme nights and most of the time I already had something to meet the criteria ,but after awhile about half the girls just wore whatever and it was like a halloween when only a few girls wore costumes. But I did wear my little sisters cheerleader outfit and won $100.00. I did really hate one club I worked at that made us wear football jerseys with the club name on them on monday nights all during football season. It was the worst night to get table dances because the guys only wanted to watch the game.To make matters worse they had this huge screen with the game on above us all night while we danced. Which meant you might have a commercial for preparation h or maxi pads above your head when it was your turn if you were unlucky. That really kills the mood. At least we could wear sneakers that night, Francinista
