Its been a year since I had extensions for 7 weeks and my hair is still not back to normal. The extensions ripped out like 30% of my hair. I take good hair vitamins and have only been colring the crown every 8-10 weeks. Give it time, I will never get real extensions again I wear the clips in too. Be careful though because like you I only wesr 3 pieces but if I wear the alot I notice thining.

fusions will ruin your hair. i'm not sure why anyone is still doing this to themselves.
have you tried horse products on your bald spots? i mean that seriously. i am always looking for new horse products. why? have you seen the tails of showhorses? they're beautiful, thick, shiny, perfect. and you can use the product on human hair. see if you have a tack/horsefeed shop in your area.

I used the real stuff they use on horse tails, that stuff stinks so bad I couldnt sleep when I left it in at night and I dont think it did much but not sure? I also used ovation its suppose to make your hair grow it was really expensive and my hair looked nice when I used it but it didnt make it grow and I still had handfulls of hair come out when blowdryng. Kisca I get my hair colored at the salon I was scared as hell to color it when the extensions came out I waited 3 months and had breakage but my hair is highlight lowlight with bleach and matrix demi color.

yeah, i heard mtg smells like shit. is that what you're referring to?
what ovation product are you talking about?

Yes it was mtg, it sells like bad pork the longer you keep it on. I went on the ovation webste and got the package deal, the shampoo, conditioner and the cell therapy. Its really expensive and my hair did look nice while using but it was still coming out in handfulls so I really cant reccomend it.

lol yes, i heard people who used it saying how every time they walked into a room, someone would mention the smell of bacon.
i'm in love with my horsey products, but i have heard good things about monistat (the generic kind you can buy at the dollar store). the biggest complaints i heard were that it's very greasy, and it's also a bit awkward to go to the dollar store and buy vaginal infection cream in bulk.

i'm glad you started this thread, i was just researching it because after years of dying and bleaching my hair, i now have very thin hair and you can see my scalp.. very scary. my mom's hair is like this also, and i think it may be genetic. i am going to start taking one a day women's vitamins, because i read that vitamin d and calcium are very imp for hair growth and the stimulation of new hair follicles. i am vitamin d deficient, so i can not absorb calcium well.
i have tried many different hair products. the horse product that you might want to try is i believe mane and tail? i have a friend who swears by it.. i used it for a little bit and noticed an increase in thickness, but it was only when i used tthe shampoo.. i still prefer to use my pantene.
i've also considered buying the laser comb, which was recommended by oprah.. it's 500 bucks though, so i am looking for a way to fix this hair problem from the inside out instead of paying for a way to fix it from the outside.
I vote for a multivitamin, Biotin supplemented to that, and BioSil or JarrowSil. These last two are activated liquid silicon, similar to the horsetail extract but more absorbable in your body. I can honestly say I notice a difference in my skin with the BioSil! And it's supposed to help with bone density as well.

The hair vitamins help for a while and your body get used to them, believe me ive tried everythng over the last year it just takes time to grow back. You have to remember the extensions pulled your hair out at the root so it has to grow back like 14 inches. Heatherette the main and tale products are crap, were talking about mtg its stuff you buy at feed stores made for real horse tails. The main and tale crap has nothing in it but waxes and stuff.

^ thanks for the heads up, you saved me a trip to the store haha

yeah, you want to stick to the actual horse stores. once horse products become mainstream, they change the formula to make them more accessible for customers who aren't willing to apply it to the scalp daily and who just want a conditioner they can slap on in the shower and rinse off after thirty seconds.
I had the same problem for a while, and brazilian keratin treatments worked really well. I never noticed a difference right away, but when I stopped getting them (when I became poor from quitting stripping) my hair got a whole lot worse. I got the poisenous old fashioned treatments, they are not illegal.
Man I really wish I could get more of these done!! It makes your hair sooo perfect, strong, and silky.

bkt treatments affect people differently so be very careful. many people have gone through massive hairloss after bkt. i use keratin based products only when i do shit to my hair that i have no business doing ie. dyeing and perming and then dyeing again within a 2 week period.
that level of protein that is in bkt will break your hair off if you don't take moisturize properly.
this is what i'm saying: if you are not willing to invest the time and research into the science of hair, stick to commercial products. there is no quick fix to hair loss/thinning, but there are things that can be done, but they will require a lot of effort on your part.
i am running low on cowboy magic. i swear the people at the tack shop think i train horses for a living.

haha are they really!! i didn't know that. show horses are serious business, i guess.

My hair is very thick and coarse. weave, wigs... don't pull my hair out but a lot of my friends complain about their edges being pulled. Just lucky I guess.
Fusions will NOT ruin your hair if you get them done by a true professional but then again.. maybe your hair isn't strong enough for such. It didn't pull my hair out.

I've been using this protein treatment conditioner and it works.

Hair loss or baldness (technically known as alopecia) is a loss of hair from the head or body. Baldness can refer to general hair loss or male pattern baldness specifically. Some types of baldness can be caused by alopecia areata, an autoimmune disorder. The extreme forms of alopecia areata are alopecia totalis, which involves the loss of all head hair, and alopecia universalis, which involves the loss of all hair from the head and the body.
Baldness can have many causes, including fungal infection (tinea capitis), traumatic damage, such as by compulsive pulling (trichotillomania), as a result of radiotherapy or chemotherapy, and as a result of nutritional deficiencies such as iron, and as a result of autoimmune phenomena, including alopecia areata and hair loss associated with systemic lupus erythematosus.
