    Default Is It Worth It?

    hi everyone,

I've been lurking on these boards for awhile but never really posted. I've been reading for the last year or so how bad the money has gotten which is pretty much the case in every industry. My question is even with the current economic condition, is it worth it to start stripping now? Currently I bartend at night and waitress in the morning at 2 different restaurants. I work about 60 hours a week and bring home about $1000 a week. I am so tired when i'm done that I don't have any energy or time left to do anything else.

Would it be worth it to trade in my 2 jobs to strip? I'm not really nervous about anything else in terms of being a new girl. I just wanna know if this a good to make a move. Like I said I know the money has gotten worse but since I never made that kind of money before anyway then it wouldn't really affect me. Any comments would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Well ... you could always dance a few nights ( with a 60 hour a week schedule you'll have to vacation from another job ) to see if dancing works for you. I've been a bartender too and dancing is more physically and emotionally draining ( after the thrill wears off ) , but it pays more . Dancer money depends on SO MANY factors ( look obviously ...but also the ability to do a challenging SALES job and do it well ).

I live in Charlotte NC. But I have no attachment to this city whatsoever so I am willing to travel and possibly move if the money is right. I honestly don't think I would dance here because I used to frequent a lot of the clubs here and don't want to run into anyone I know. I'm about an hour away from SC and 3 hours from Atlanta.

My initial plan was to work a couple of nights a week out of town but keep one of my other jobs just to see how it goes. I have a friend who works in Raleigh NC and she makes about $200-$300 a night. I know that's not a lot to most vets on here but considering I work pretty much 7 days a week for $1000. I would love to make the same amount in 3-4 nights.

I think there is luck-related and skill-related money in stripping and it usually takes a while to build up the skill-related money, although some are naturals at it. The best bet is to keep at least one of the jobs and to check if it's even for you.

My personal opinion... if you've danced before you might be okay. I wouldn't want to be a beginner in this economy though if you have other options.

Can you just stop bar-tending at one job & try dancing to see how it goes?
    Don't you ever sleep?

thanks for the advice Ladies. I think I will take a week off of one of my jobs and try it out. I would love to work less and make more but I do realize that the money isn't the same.

Let us know how it goes. Stripping worked better for me when it was a side gig. I made more money because I knew I still had a paycheck coming from my straight job. You might just want to strip 1-2 nights a week and keep one of your other jobs.

Stripping is more money, but its physical and emotional demands can't be discounted. I wasn't pulling in enough money to compensate for the quality of life that stripping was costing me. So there's that to think about, too. Money sort of changes shape when you start stripping.

I made 1000 in 15hrs this week and as far as the emotional distress goes its beats the emotional distress that comes with a 9 to 5. I don't care what any1 says...well unless you look like a hag,but those girls put themselves in that situation

I can't emphasize enough that you don't quit your jobs. Do vcacation for one or both and just try stripping. See if you can get a free week too, because a lot of clubs give newbies a couple nights without a house fee. After that you can be the judge of whether or not its a realistic career for you.

To be honest, if you want to strip because you just think it will be easier and you can make more money you could be setting yourself up for disappointment. Yes you'll have less hours but stripping is HARD WORK.

Go check out some clubs, read tons and tons of hustle hut, and practice selling dances and talking to customers in your head. It's rough to start but if you are in an okay location (and keep in mind many places are "not in season" right now!) and find out you're good at hustling, you may be alright. But try to keep at least one job in case things don't work out! You definitely don't want to shoot yourself in the foot.

I find that it's all relative to how much you are making currently and your attitude. No one on any board can tell you what is best for you. Only you can decide that.

I DO suggest that you dip your toe into the waters and strip only part time. Keep the day job, and proceed from there.
