    Default Ancient clubs/reviews section

I have noticed that the clubs/reviews section is ancient and is not up to date with many clubs in my town. Alot of the clubs listed have went out of biz do not exist and there are many new clubs that are not listed. I try not to post asking questions in club chat, because of the reviews, but I see this section is so old and out of date...What gives? How can we get an updated list of the clubs in our town, and updated dancer reviews? Id love to read the reviews if they had up to date information, but I have to post in club chat to get any updates on the clubs I am intrested in.

I think that area had a weird glitch a few years ago. Someone should know the real answer. I used to love the dancer review section. It was a great tool. BRING IT BACK!!!

Sigh... I've tried to encourage updates too. I think the section was just down for so long that now no-one wants to use it. The section does work now though.

i try to review when i remember to. maybe we should all write one review, and if we can convince all of sw to write just one review, the reviews section would be booming.

I try to review whenever possible; I think the biggest deterrent for current dancers is that they don't WANT to post about their homeclub if they're doing well, because they don't want a sudden influx of girls and more competition. SW is available to anyone, as is the clubs and reviews section, so it'd be easy for members who don't participate much around the board to just go in and take information without giving anything in return. There's a huge "pay your dues" culture here on SW when it comes to news about what clubs are doing well, or even basic information like housefees and tipouts, we don't like giving out info if we're not going to get an equal share of info back in return.

There's also the issue of safety - not everyone is comfortable posting their location on a public form, where they've worked, etc.

I understand why that section is dying.

    I'm
off to do some reviews...I too used to use this section but it's not much use when info is 5 plus years old.

i agree that a primary deterrent is location and privacy. i did reviews but stopped because i was uncomfortable with the idea of someone being able to track every club i've ever worked.

I third this! One of the reasons I have dragged my feet thus far. And now I am having second thoughts about it again. Maybe there could be a way to make the reviews anonymous but keep our stats public so we can tell that it's not a "troll" doing the reviews.

honestly, pms are the way to go. i've found dancers here to be incredibly helpful via pm. it's frankly a bit absurd that this is a public forum in the first place. i always have to remember that ANYONE can read this shit. absurd.

I've written a couple reviews, but only one for my previous club after I left and determined never to go back, and one for a club that I checked out and was entirely unimpressed with in regards to staff treatment of me. Other than that, I don't like to post reviews due to privacy. I don't want anyone to be able to tell it's me. I do still use that section a lot though when I'm curious about other areas. I do wish it was used and updated by dancers more often... but I understand the hesitation. I agree that PMs are way more helpful.

Not meaning to dredge up an old thread, but can someone please look in to this section? There is a club in whitby ontario (that has been there for 20+ years) and I want to post a review of it. Also all the clubs in Oshawa ontario are closed as with the one in Peterborough.

I'd love some updates in the club reviews. Maybe the club reviews section can be made private sort of like ladies only?? Also reviewing on a new username may help with the privacy stuff I hope we can get the reviews up to date.

    Duh Re: Ancient clubs/reviews section

It does not seem necessary to put the exact dates at a club, this could be embarrassing and the month or season and year should be enough. It also seems unnecessary to post how much money you made considering how subjective we all know this is. I think the key elements should be hiring practices (nails done? no tattoos? etc.), working conditions (gown club? ethnicity of girls?), and price point (for customers and house fees). I feel as though these facts should be shared among us. If a girl wants to travel and walks in to a new club day one, only to find that she needs to have her nails done, and it costs $200 just to walk in the door each night it is not a nice surprise. Most of us that have traveled know that whoever we talk to at the front door when we call the club for a booking does not always mention all of the nuts and bolts. Also, just because one of us writes a review of a club in a positive light does not mean that every free dancer in the country will show up on the door step the next weekend! It is nice to get out and travel once and a while, but seriously don't we all have lives at home?
