Default Anybody here a "successful" affiliate?

I'm just curious if there is anyone here who is in the least bit successful as an affiliate? Being totally honest, I don't know much about this but I'd like to learn more about it directly from someone who has walked the walk... reading NONsense articles about adsense where "Sally is a single mom and earns $473 per day working from home!" just isn't cutting it for me...

By "in the least bit successful" I mean earning at least $200 to $300 per month just from affiliate sales. I see tons of websites with links to products and camgirls and camsites and all sorts of stuff floating around and (no offense to anybody who has their site/blog designed that way), but I think it just looks tacky and distracts from the main purpose of the website, especially if it's not bringing in some residual income that's actually worthwhile.

I hear stories of people making $20,000 per month etc... by really jumping in heavy and working the affiliate angle but uhm... I don't *know* any of these people. If anyone has any links to good online resources that explain the process or any bit of info that would be another great angle to work while site/blog building and all, I think...

i make okay money. but nothing to jump through hurdles for. you need EXTREME traffic such as a tube site to see any good conversions. but i do it for side money...but honestly im about to stop. i wanna focus on ME ME ME. not somebody else damn site. because what if said customer doesnt purchase today, but remainders the name of the site? I dont get paid without my link connected to it.

HOWEVER you can create a site meant for affiiliate shit. kinda like webcam411

Hmmm okay that makes sense. I'm now wondering if those sites where all of the webcam companies are reviewed are essentially cleverly masked affiliate sites? I mean I'm certain that the links placed on those sites are referral links. It just seems like a good idea to do something similar, like create a site to where whatever you are linking to is very useful to the type of customer who visits the site. I bet there are high conversions on those types of sites! What do you think?

What this girl does is genius and If I were to go back to camming this is what I do.

All that affiliate marketing is making someone else richer not ME (agree with ppg) I would find a site that has a good referral program and promote myself through a blog or a site. See how she does not promote anything else on her blog? It is very smart and she is not confusing people.

Now creating another account and affiliate marketing sure? I made $400-500 every two weeks from my malayataylor blog just putting up banners. I'm sure there is big money in it.

    Oh god...Affiliates...Where to begin?

Well, I don't have energy tonight, so...

I have close friends who pull in $100k a year doing affiliate marketing. I have done so much money from affiliates...it all depends what affiliate for what 'product'?

Sheesh...you guys touched a hot-button here for me, since this is PURE promotion...PURE.

    love it...

Man I tried to get into AM years ago but its A LOT of hard work and you need to know html and seo and basically spend hours setting up high traffic sites for your links to make any money.

    I didnt have the patience.

Sorry to revive a zombie thread, but I thought it had some really good information in it.

I've been dabbling in affiliate marketing and I am truly amazed that I've pushed a lot of traffic and have never made a single conversion. I am truly baffled with how anyone makes money off of AM!

To add to the old thread, I too know someone who makes $150k plus a year on affiliate sales. She has over 100 phone sex sites and has IMlive and a few others attached. It's not all that confusing, why not get paid for someone signing up to another site whether they make a call or buy a show? Also, if they do buy a show or make a call, you get a percentage of whatever they spend for the rest of their life as long as their account is open and they keep buying. I use a back up service to take my calls when I cannot. She makes $75k+ a year ($2-3k a week at times) just sending calls she can't get to her back up affiliate. Just the other day I was asleep and a caller dropped $95 on a call I didn't take. I got $33 from that, not amazing but $33 for not doing shit sounds good to me.

I make money from the affiliates from my porn site, and cam sites and I am also venturing into a vanilla world of making money from affiliates where I get 100% comission on sales.

if your going into affiliate marketing the best way to gain traffic to get started is by blogging, now the thing with blogging is having a blog that is an attractive niche. once you find your niche, it's a matter of blogging regularly and then having the appropriate links and sites you want to promote on your blog. then buying traffic is another. with buying traffic it is costly and hit and miss it is just how traffic goes.

You need content, traffic, leads and sales.
