ME! I'm staying in a hotel with bedbugs. It sucks. I'm allergic so the bites swell up into big welts. Management tries to spray for them but all the rooms are infected, so they just stroll from one room to the next...
I'm moving Oct. 1st and I can't wait. Everything I own is getting professionally cleaned (clothes, pillows, bedding, everything) before I get to my new place. All my luggage is going in the trash - too many places for them to hide in a suitcase. I don't want to bring any bugs to my new apartment. One bedbug can produce about 400 other bedbugs in their lifetime, so all it takes is one bug. I'm so sick of these things. They get EVERYWHERE. Hair, clothes, stacks of financial papers. There's a major epidemic of these things here in Toronto (and everywhere, I hear).

....really? Didn't know that. Bring those chemicals back, yo'!!!!

This is horrifying imagine with everyone traveling your luggageis mixed up with everyone elses on planes trains etc, not just at the hotels what about lockers in the dressing room and those plush couches in the vip room and laundrymats this is really freaking me out. Francinista

Is it bad on the west coast I wonder?

I really want to get an incall location for private dancing downtown, but all the reports of bed bugs have scared me into looking more at offices than apartments. There are websites devoted to reporting them:
http://bedbugregistry.com
http://www.bedbugreports.com
I really would prefer an apartment... but with bed bugs in so many apartments in Denver the offices just look like a much better option!
Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

I had them... stayed in shit hotel when I was working in another state and must have brought them home with me. It was hell. My husband thought I was crazy because either he has no reaction to the bites or they just think Im yummier. We had to have our house ripped apart and fumigated twice to get rid of them at $600 a pop. I was so annoyed. I also couldnt work because I looked like I had some contagious disease. ew! 5 star from now on for me and always keep your suitcase zipped shut and on the suitcase rack.

Oh yikes .... I stay in hotels all the time ( like ... from 2004-2009 I stayed in them around 8-10 days our of each month , currently 3-5 days a month). I don't want these. I do look for the little warning spots around the head board.

These bedbugs have been showing up in stores like Abercrombie and Fitch and Victorias Secret. They are hard to get rid of. They are getting more resistant. Eventually we will have to learn to coexist with these little creatures!!
No way we need to learn how to coexist with these. They need an effective way to get rid of them. I don't know why they are letting them reach epidemic proportions like they are.
You should definitely report the place you're staying at to the registry, hopefully save other people the trouble that you're going through. And the article I read said that bedbugs weren't even just isolated to lower end hotels---they were finding them in boutique hotels also!

Ladies this bedbug situation is making me paranoid to even set down my purse. The reports of them being in stores is making me not want to shop.I did hear that you could kill them by freezing so what if you put your clothes in the freezer overnight before taking them out of the shopping bag.A friend of mine works at a very exclusive hotel and she told me they had to treat 4 rooms for the bugs. So its really hard to be safe. Francinista

These little critters could be anywhere. You could be at a nice movie and all of the sudden you get this biting sensation. Guess what it's your good ol friend Mr. Bedbug.
They like to hitch a ride on purses and luggage and could pop up anywhere even at a swank restaurant. There is one good thing though, it could cause more jobs for exterminators. That could be a lot of fun spraying those nasty things. I bet some of the male critters enjoy nibbling on a pretty ladies soft skin.

Im not sure how much difference it makes, but I stay only at very clean hotels (but like said above, bedbus travel with even the elite) but it cant be as bad as say Motel 6. I also dont use the hotel blankets and pillows, and I spray Lysol scented on everything, and I dont allow anything to be on the floor...like luggage goes up on a shelf and clothes and shoes hung up... Im not sure how much it helps, but always makes me feel a lil better.

They're finding them in standard and really nice hotels now. The Sheraton has them here, as well as the more common hotels like Hojo. Hospitals too. Bedbugs don't discriminate. They hide between the mattress and the boxspring, so it doesn't matter if you change the sheets or don't touch the floor with your blankets - they'll climb. Lysol does nothing against them.....

I remember seeing some news shows about women returning their used underwear to Victorias Secret and the store clerks wouldn't wash them they would put them back for sale. Hopefully that does not happen anymore. If it does happen hopefully there are no cooties in them.

Well what about Guam and Puerto Rico any problems with bedbugs there have they made it to the tropics yet? wonder if those metal suitcases haliburtons would deter them? If you spray insect repellant on the outside ? Francinista

Ya I knew I definitely had them when I felt one crawling on my arm at the doctors office! Fucker! I hope they never come back but the pest guy said they get bad in summer and our summer is around the corner. I live in a terrace house so Im scare they can travel from house to house. Yuck!

Maybe I can make money off this by making Hazmat like suits to wear in hotel rooms. They could make a really good monster movie out of this like the birds. Let's see the bedbugs could spread a new superplague. We would all die off. Eventually the bedbugs evolve and take over the planet. Then maybe some other mutated insect could come along and eat them all for snack food.
