Default Be Wise About What You Post Here Ladies...

PPG got me thinking when she said she googled her model name and this site came up, which caused her to change names. I used to think that you had to at least register with the site (which any damn body can do anyway) in order to see our posts, but that's not the case. This is a very public forum. I googled "Juliette25 MFC" and gues what came up... all of my Stripperweb posts having to do with MFC, which could lead someone to my Stripperweb profile and all of the rest of my posts.

Would you really want a customer searching for you to find that?

Juliette25 is not even close to my cam name, but if it was that would suck. Just something to think about if you've never thought about it before and are using your stage/cam name.

I totally agree with this 100%. That is why I use this screen name or a similar screen name for most forums/boards. Since it can't be traced and the topics we talk about is so explicit sometimes. If it was a private forum it would be different and even then I do not know....Best to stay private on these types of forums just in case...You do not even have to register to have an account too so anyone can read these forums immediately....haha

Many of you don't know this (I didn't either) but there is a site where they take posts here and make fun of dancers. The link is in a thread called "the consensus is you are all whores" (or something like that). The name I use here isn't my stage name at all. That's why I try not to make obvious certain things. For instance I've posted about the slimy pimp I met years ago who tried to take advantage of me by claiming he wanted to date (luckily I found this out before I got serious). He lurks on various exotic dancer boards trying to recruit new girls. He's probably here and if I exposed him he'd get a thrill out of this. He's a complete sociopath who's obese and ugly but lists himself as "thin" on various dating sites (no doubt to get more victims). Not just him, but I don't want people I know outside of the industry finding out. It would cause a lot of trouble.

Ironically, I just Googled my name here and there were several posts by someone with the same name on other sites. I only use this name here.

^^ i couldnt find that link. can you post it?

i did see the something awful a while back that had SW on it... Something awful makes fun of forums every weekend though, so its nothing to sweat. And it was before i joined SW.

i dont dance under the name athena anymore, for a lot of reasons, none related to SW though. that being said, if you choose to post personal stuff on here or vent on here or get into arguements on here, it is probably best that your SW persona is different than your online business persona. if you notice, the members on here who use a name that matches up with their online business usually keep it civil. Or some seem to mostly come on here to promote their business (i.e. BritneyIreland, Nakita Kash) and rarely post something not related to it, and generallly stay out of the online arguements or discussions.
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

That's exactly why I never will use my model name or real name on a forum. I come to these forums to get away from customers and site owners. I want to be able to freely say what I want and not have to worry about getting banned from one of my companies. I don't want my customers to know I'm talking shit about them sometimes, and calling them pervs. Plus you got crazy people out there. No offense but while reading some of the threads from the last week, I saw that a member here was sending another member private messages, and following them all over the place out of anger. That's called stalking. I learned to be anonymous a long time ago when I first started using the internet, and was stalked and threatened.

My personal experience too. I used to frequent another board (related to a particular band) and made the mistake of giving out too much information. These people would stalk me from message board to message board, and post information. I learned to be very careful and rarely will I even post my real name.

^^ this is why I keep my forum names different from my camming screennames, I do not want a customer to google me and find out all of my hustling tips, find out about my personal life, etc.

On a board like this we exchange alot of info: how to get more money from people, our thoughts wether good or bad, things about our personal lives, how much money we make, etc. I know alot of you ladies advertise in your signatures, etc, and that is great! But on a site like this it could do more harm then good.

If custies knew how I really felt about them, or about my awesome hustling skills and tricks of the trade, I would have alot of pissed off customers to say the least! I would not want any of my customers to be able to read more about me, my personal life, hustling skills, etc! I usually do not post much personal info here, but when I do it is because this is my sacred stripper place, I know I am among like minded women here and I feel safe to do so.

I really would like to let all of you ladies know who I truly am but I can't because I am protecting myself and my business. No offense either but I dont need girls hitting me up all day on the various websites I work on for advice, etc, or to be friends! There arent alot of customers who come here, so I save my advertisements for elsewhere!

Agreed. It's funny you mentioned about saying who you are, because I am the same way. My stripper name has been in various adult papers and on a radio show so I had somewhat of a name. I once called a local strip club and asked if they heard of me and the manager said yes. Other clubs would call to book me for shows, especially new clubs and would put me on the marquee. However I can't "out" my stripper name because I had many stalkers under that name (which is another reason I stopped dancing as much). There are several club owners who literally hate me and would have done anything to hurt me (they hated me because I am very outspoken). I also can't out my real name either for obvious reasons. I'm mostly retired now and don't want people to know about my past.

I agree with Athena. My name is obviously not common, & if a person searches for it on Google I know my posts on SW will pop up. The good thing about that as she said is that it creates a sort of "self monitoring". Anyone who uses their professional name on here generally will think twice before posting to the forum because they don't want to trash their own name.

I will also be the first to admit that I don't really post personal information on here. Generally speaking my: relationship status, family, home life, & most health issues stay off the board. There are certainly times when I feel like I don't really have anyone to talk to because pretty much everyone I know is in the industry & I don't want stuff spread through the grapevine - that happens though. There are a few pink members on here that know about something MAJOR & bad that has been going on in my life, but I've talked to them via phone & I know they have no reason to make it public information. If they did it still wouldn't be the end of the world because there wasn't any way for me to control it... more like the luck of the draw.

I do think you have to decide though if you want to be able to post on here anonymously about anything... or if you feel that you plan to monitor what you say here & use the site as a tool for yourself & others.

this is so true. i even have some idiot that i knew as a customer continuously stalking me on this site, even though my dancer name is differnt from this one. my advise to any ladies in this business is to be VERY cautious with not only this site but any other social sites you use. losers and psychos with nothing better to do lurk around the internet like flys on shit and all the tools to take their nutty bs to another level are right at their fingertips (given enuff leverage).. Be especially careful with facebook etc etc. its so easy for ppl to find you and get information related to you via the internet.

Yes if you're trashing everything and starting fresh, I wouldn't bother. I kept my "old account" open, as I guess I'll respond under that name in threads that I've already contributed to, so as not to confuse anybody. It's only been 15min and I'm already confused myself, LoL!

I was wondering at first how come some frequent posters closed account, and now I see they don't want to go by cam name. I can understand the reason for me this is not my cam name, and I like to continue posting on discrete level not having possible customers find me on here.
