Honestly. I've seen girls that looked like they were have a seizure on the stage get hired. ;P
Your dancing skills are definately nowhere near as important as your ability to sell yourself.
If you're really nervous you could always look up a few videos and practice dance moves at home for yourself.

Relax. Luke Skywalker didn't master the lightsaber in one day.
"Fake tits are like Kevlar. They don't guarantee your chances of survival but they sure as hell improve it."
Tempest
Uh okay, anything else you can't do or lack? Since you're making a list of inadequacies.
What you should be doing is figuring out what you can do. What are your talents? Instead of ripping yourself apart on deficiencies. This business isn't for the weak-minded and low self-esteemed. I can't speak for England, but in the U.S., the less weakness you show the better.
Now innocence, innocence, on the other hand, would sell and a whole lot faster. Start thinking about your image, body type, and who would be attracted to your look. Then, map out a strategy of how to best accrue wealth in the club you're planning on working at.
I've seen a ton of girls start at my club with the hopes of becoming the next pole star and dancing queen, and they all quit. They quit because learning how to pole dance or even effectively sway your hips on beat will not guarantee your survival in a stripclub.
You need to be smart. You need to know how to hustle and everything else you can't do, fake it, and don't forget to smile. Now, that's free information you won't get from me again...
Good luck!

If you learn how to pose & sell then you will be fine. So many entertainers don't really dance these days, or they just crawl around on the floor imitating sexual positions that anything you do that is different & looks good will set you apart. Go watch videos on Youtube of burlesque & find some poses that look great for you body. You'll be fine, you just have to try it!
Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

Hi,
If it makes you feel any better, I had my first shift in a club in't North of England on Wednesday and I said upfront that I've never done ANYTHING like this before. While it was quiet a really lovely girl tried to teach me pole tricks and I failed miserably - even after my parents spent thousands on dance lessons until I was 14, I'm definitely not a graceful mover! She said it was just something that will eventually come with practice and not to worry - just to make a 3 minute routine for lap dances.
I think I'm definitely living proof you can get hired without having any particular rhythm. Don't worry about it, audition! Good luck (:
Sorry for the giant long rant!

I cant do anything on the pole. I will eventuallly take classes but not knowing how to use the pole hasnt really had a bad effect on my money. In fact most clubs around where I live dont have poles on the stages. You'll be fine. I couple of things I do with the pole is just hold onto it and pose or dance around it![]()

Hi there! i worked last 2 days at a strip club first day i made 60 bucks in 2 hours second night i worked 4 hours and made 176 $.. I am totally newbie and not a great mover either. But i am pretty i really don't do to much or do whatever i can do best. Even though i did not ask anyone for dance people found me for dance or came to tip me at stage... i m tryin of course i wish i could dance better but it takes time. Some girls do fantastic pole tricks but still nobody tips them. I think this is how customers like a dancer at stage even though girl sucks.
i am 5'6 and 145 pound i m curvy i thought i t could be problem too lots of guys adore big booty nice tits pretty face....so dont worry about tonning or learnin dance. U will be just fine trust me i was same way before now i started to make money!

Hell ... If you are determined like you say ... You'll do it ! Take a pole dance class if you feel you need to... But you can easily just imitate what others do! Lapdances = money. Learn to sell them well and you'll be a happy dancer! Stage is just advertising for that generally.
At my last club, one of the top earners was the WORST dancer you can imagine. Like, it was really really bad.. She also had pretty much no personality. She made money off of hustling the shit out of guys.
So if you have even a little bit of talent, and even just a liiitle bit of personality, you'll be okay. And personality + hustling goes a long way.

I've just got back from my second ever shift up north. It's 7.54am. I made 546 pounds after 30% commision.
I can't dance, as I mentioned before. I'm not stunning by any means. I think like charlie61 says above it's hustle. Find something you have in common with them and work it. A young guy came in today and everyone ignored him, assuming he'd be cheap. Turned out we do the same degree course and he spent 600 quid for three hours in VIP with me. Blew nearly half his student loan installment.
Hope this gives you hope! xxx
