    Default Promos/Brand Ambassadors..

I just wanted to let anyone know about this crap, prob. y'all are too smart, but I did this promo (like a sampling thing, you pass out food/beverage etc. in a store). & I feel like I got played. I had some car probs, I called in & explained I'd be late, she told me to go in anyway, she didn't even bother to call the guy. When I got there (waaay across town in rush hr. traffic) he was pissed, & I got immediately sent home, I called the lady, she laughed about it, said she'd pay me anyway, I'm supposed to get paid this week, I requested to get my check earlier. I had told her up front right away I had car probs & needed the $ asap, & she said fine, just remind her, which I already did twice, & now it doesn't look like I'll get paid at all. I'm just waiting, & believe me I'll complain, but I really needed the $ this week

    Hey Whirlerz,

I've done this kind of thing in the past when I was in college.

You might not get paid for this gig. The thing is it's not the lady who is your contact at the promo company who pays you, it is really the client who you were passing out the samples and coupons for who does.

What happens is on your end they probably supplied you with paperwork that the store manager needs to sign off on. Once this paperwork is signed and completed, then you give it to the lady at the promo company. She in turn sends it to the client with an invoice. The client sends the payment to her. She takes her cut and you get yours.

Now see from the situation you describe it doesn't seem like all of the paperwork could have been signed and completed. If that is the case you probably will not get paid.

Hey! Glad you finally got paid! I'm a promo model, and no matter what if you have a contract with her she has to pay you regardless if the client paid her or not. Unfortunately a lot of these promo agencies are unprofessional and can take up to 2 months paying you.
