    Default Raw dessert!

So I've completely jumped on board with this raw food business, and I'm LOVING it. I don't feel deprived or anything. Just very healthy and peaceful...not to mention energetic!

Tonight for dessert I made raw brownies with chocolate frosting, served with vanilla ice-cream and a strawberry sorbet palate cleanser.

It looks and tastes incredible...and it's all raw! I don't make complicated / fatty stuff like this very often, but it's fun to mix it up every now and then.

Sounds amazing! The only thing that I dislike about eating raw is that making at all gourmet dishes is so labor-intensive. But when you have the time to do it, the results are awesome.

    Now I want raw brownies.

^ Not labor intensive at all!!

    Brownies from here: http://goneraw.com/recipe/raw-brownies

    And icing from here: http://imsorawkin.blogspot.com/2007/...-brownies.html

I halved the recipe and it was more than enough for two people!

Really? Wow -- I'm going to check that out. It's also of some use as a mood stabilizer/enhancer!

thanks for that website! i was browsing through the desserts... so many yummy looking things!
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

As a side note, I recently bought raw organic cacao powder, and it truly doesn't compare to anything else like that I've bought. Definitely worth the price for the amount, since you don't need to use that much in recipes.

    Free shipping, too! http://www.amazon.com/Truly-Raw-Choc...6248500&sr=8-5

I like the raw diet, but it gives me the worst gas ever.

So I think I'm going to sub the cocoa powder with carob powder, add in a dash of inositol, coconut oil, and maybe the other stuff too. Perfect sweet tooth fix. Om nom nom!
Awesome, thank you so much for this tip!

How many days in a row have you eaten raw? It most definitely makes you a gassy monster for the first week or so - for some people a couple of weeks. Then your body gets accustomed to the extra fiber.

Reasons for having gas on the raw diet:

    1) Eating too many nuts, or not soaking your nuts in water to remove enzyme inhibitors.

    2) Eating foods together that combine poorly, thus resulting in digestive unhappiness.

My Mum used to make a thing when we were kids - it didn't have a name but it was gorgeous.

She took Coco-Pops, Frosties, melted chocolate, butter cream and fudge.....mixed them all together and then pressed them into cup-cake moulds and put them in the fridge for 2 hours.

When you bit into them, you got crunchy pops and sticky fudge, with toffee butter cream and chocolate.....YUMM-EEE

Hee, I thought the same thing when I first started reading raw recipes. It is amazing how much better they taste than sound!

    ^ Exactly!

Though getting a high-quality cocoa (preferably raw organic cacao) powder really does make a huge difference.

I really was amazed at how much these tasted like 'real' brownies. My SO said the same thing.
