The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

I usually just say Illinois because my entire life I've lived in Illinois. I've moved around (and plan to next year) but always close to Chicago. I even attended college in Chicago. At one point I planned to move to Florida to strip (this is when the clubs there were upscale) but never went ahead with this plan.
I always tell people I'm from my mom.
I've lived in over 20 cities in over a dozen countries in North America, Latin America, and Europe, and travelled to tons more, and the first two years of my life lived in a car up and down the west coast so I literally have no idea where to claim I'm from.....
I say "Northeast PA" since most don't know much about PA besides Pittsburgh or Philly. So i always end up saying i'm X amount of hours from one of those areas.
I was born in PA and raised pretty much up the entire I-81 area.
Infancy: Wilkes Barre
Toddlerhood/Childhood: Nanticoke
Teens yrs: Nuangola
College yrs: Mountaintop then Moscow
Adulthood: Pittston
We're house hunting in the general Pittston area as well.
I identify with no part really. Just the area as a whole i guess.
My fiance is a 100% Dupont boy (born and raised) and he really is attached to it.

Athena, you got the devil on your back. Cool. I am from Medford Lakes. On the edge of the pines, lots a devil stories around me. Spent the last decade out here in Morgantown and the Burgh

I can do better than you in a two bit fancy house

Ashland, Oregon is my hometown.
If you go north to Portland, Oregon to meet the PDX girlies and the burlesque scene up there going up I-5 you will pass it. Stop to check out the Shakespearean plays. You will find lots of hippie counter culture in the Rogue valley.
Tampa Fl. born..lived there for 20 years except one in in New Orleans..been in Atlanta since 96.

I was born in Toronto, grew up mostly in London ON Canada, and went to university in St. Catherines ON. Ive lived in Sydney Australia for 5.5 years and I say Im from "near Toronto" since no one here knows where London Ontario is. Some guy asked me the other night why I dont say sydney... I was like duhhh buddy... Ive leaved here 5 years, I think 23 years in Canada means Im still from Canada. I occasionally get the "Oh I bet your American and you just say your Canadian"... my reply "If I was going to fake a nationality I would at least do something sexy like swedish.. not Canadian" LOL

I grew up in Maryland, near DC.

Even though I'm from Baton Rouge LA, I moved to Utah 2years ago. And I actually say Utah....I never thought about before now. But, I'm still proud to be from the south!!

Even though I'm from Phoenix, I always say Vegas since it's where I last was and spent 8 years there.
I gotta start saying Phoenix though because I always get, "Why'd you leave Vegas to come here?"
People don't realize that Vegas isn't a great place to live.
Yeah, it's fun to visit, but having a family...there's NOTHING to do out there.
Then they think I'm some "super stripper", which I'm absolutely not! LOL
I guess it makes for a good conversation starter though.

I'm from Utah ( p.s. Alpha .... I only know of two other girl from Utah here .... so you're the third ). Are others lurking too maybe ?
Since I travel to work , I will often say I'm from Denver in the club so that I don't have to answer the cliche' Utah questions, but lately I've just been saying Utah more and more.
I've traveled extensively to other places ( all over the USA + a few other countries ) but I really like it here . It's beautiful here. Most of my family is here. I don't like the cold though, so I do plan to travel to the southern USA to work this winter.

I thought about starting a thread similar to this after I looked up my hometown on wiki. I learned some new things about my birthplace. I was born in Jamestown, New York. Our biggest claim to fame is that this is also the hometown of comedian Lucille Ball. I have thought about making a video visiting her grave and posting it on here just for the hell of it...
If anyone is interested, I have added the link to learn more
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jamestown,_New_York
It's fun to look up your birthplace, I think anyway![]()

I was born in Honolulu,Hawaii and I moved alot but I went to school mostly in Jacksonville,Fla. I traveled around some more and I have been in Savannah, Georgia for a real long time now. Francinista

Cali,Colombia is home. But I was raised up north from chicago to cleveland, and ive been in Florida for 6yrs.
To answer the question.... I claim Colombia and here, in Fl.

I tell them "I's a Newfie, B'y!". That usually shuts 'em up.
Sometimes if they're American I'll tell them I'm from Florida....custys seem to like that.

^ I noticed your accent, but I thought it was adorable so I didn't mention it. It can kinda sound New Yorkish though.
I remember when I found out you were from Russia, I was like "OMG OMG OMG! SAY SOMETHING IN RUSSIAN! OMG OMG!". Sorry for being such a dweeb, but I think it's cool. A conversation starter for sure.

Born in Kansas, moved to CO right before starting school, moved to San Fran for college... then back to Denver. I have been considering a much needed move.
Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

i tell them where i was raised (moco MD), but they tend not to believe me, so it turns into a whole "where were you born" thing, to which i tell them a tiny town in MI. Then they proceed to ask whwre my family is from, and i tell them (eastern europe and UK) and they finally seem happy.
They all think i am "foreign" of some sore, so they are not happy until i tell thme where my grandparents are from.
it works as far as killing time, lol
I'm from the Bay Area of CA, near San Francisco. So I just tell people at work SF.
Born and raised in NY. Been living in the DC area for almost 20 yrs. now and love it out here, but still consider myself a NY'er at heart, even though I'd never move back...

I was talking to this guy tonight who showed me his tattoo (he had a New Jersey state tattoo as well)...honestly, at first, I would've thought it was California LOL, but because I read this thread today and you posted your tattoo, I knew it was New Jersey!
so, thank you.![]()
