    Default Aaaargh...Oouuch....Kidney Stone..!!!

I hardly ever rant here....but I just gotta say - I've been in agony the last 3 weeks. I got up one morning and had the most excruciating pain down my right hand side. It felt like a burning stabbing kind of sensation.....and it got worse over the next few days...so I had to stay in bed 'cos I could hardly stand up.

    Then.....all of a sudden......OMFG......I couldn't do a pee!!!

So - off to the Doctors....who packed me off to Hospital to see a Urologist. He put all kinds of unspeakable tubes up my girly tubes.....and Hey Presto - a Kidney Stone....and it's 10mm round!!!

I have to go in next week to have it removed.....yet another nasty tube up my tubes!!

So I'm in pain................and if anyone else has had this - I sympathise.

ugh im terrified of these. over the summer i found out i probably have kidney damage since there was significant protein passing through my urine, but due to being uninsured i have not further investigated the matter.

i do get kidney aches though. especially if i eat too much sugar (i have PCOS <--> insulin resistance)
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

I had emergency laser surgery last year to remove a stone that was too big to pass. Then had a stent put in my urethra for two weeks after and it HURT almost as bad. The pain came on very suddenly and at first I thought I had food poisoning or something... Back in May of this year, I found out there is another lurking...UGH....but no pain yet.... :/

Thought this was an out patient procedure here? Using an ultra sound devices that breaks up the stone inside the body.

To my knowledge, it can be, but I guess in my case it caused blockage too far up and I was "knocked out" and they went in with a laser to break it up. But I think what you mean is more of a preventative measure to stop what happened with me....if you already know you have one...
That was my first time ever having one...

Oh man, I'm so sorry. I've passed stones twice now. It's been years, but the reason was chronic dehydration (sweating so much while working out and not replacing it).

It is the most excruciating pain. Hang in there

Acute kidney stone pain is no joke. I really really feel for you. I read that 'the acute variation is particularly unpleasant and is often described as one of the strongest pain sensations felt by humans (being worse than childbirth, broken bones, gunshot wounds, burns, or surgery).'

Get better soon, and good luck.

^^^ Aaaw, thanks ladies......you've cheered me up a lot.

I have to have some kind of vibration treatment to break the stones......then they put in a tube to suck out the worst of it. I guess I just pee the rest out?!

Oh my! I never had them... and I am scared of getting them. When my mother had them, she had to pass them, while a friend of mine got some laser treatment to remove them. I remember the doctor recommended to drink as much water as needed daily and to take vit C and B... if that helps at all. I do hope you go through well, hang in there!

A 27mm stone..?!!? OUCHH....you have my sympathies hun. Still, I guess what they might do is what they did with mine. I had 2 stones, one 10mm, one 17mm, and they zapped them by laser (or ultrasound...can't remember) to break them up. They removed nearly all of the debris, and then left it for me to pee out the tiny bits that were left.

My procedure didn't hurt....it was afterwards that hurt for about 3 weeks.

    Good Luck sweetie.
