I'll be front and center to place my vote on election day. As retarded as he sounds, no doubt there are plenty waiting to vote him into office.

Lots of people take them seriously. They've become a pretty strong movement. What's sad is that the fringe element among them has distorted them so badly.

I support all third parties that get rolling. A few more parties would be a good thing for this coutnry.

^^^ as a (former) New Yorker, this guy Carl Paladino may not be as 'dumb' as he looks ...

    - in Machiavellian terms, it really doesn't matter if he pisses off gays and their supporters, because none of these people were ever likely to vote for Paladino anyhow.

    - every outrageous statement / event garners Paladino more free news coverage ... which is very important in a state like NY where media buys are EXTREMELY expensive, and where downstate 'moneyed interests' contribute disproportionately to democrats ( both nationally and at state level )

    - every politically incorrect statement by Paladino reinforces the impression that Paladino is NOT a professional politician ... which appeals to some segment of the NY population who are absolutely fed up with NY's increasing taxes, chronic political corruption, patronage etc.

Personally, I don't think that Paladino has a chance in hell of winning the governorship, but he IS taking the opportunity to make many 'unspeakable' points that a 'serious' RINO republican candidate would never dare utter ... even though any other republican candidate would also lose to democratic scion Andrew Cuomo.

Also, the absolute inability of any republican / conservative candidates to defeat the 'anointed' democratic nominees in major New York public positions, due in large measure to the state's high level of social welfare recipients, to the state's high percentage of gov't employees versus total population, and to the state's high imbalance in political donations ( with Wall St. contributing very heavily to democrats ), is one of the main reasons I decided to move 'way south of the border'.

Fringe element my ass, its their elected leaders that make them look so bad. Paladino, Christine O'Donnel, Sharon Angle, Art Robindon, etc etc. This are not the fringe element of the Tea Party they are the people they have chosen as their candidates and every single one of them is either insane or moronic. There isn't a single one of them that should be in charge of anything bigger than a lemonade stand and this people think they are fit to be running a country, it is ridiculous.

^^^ regardless of that personal opinion, we'll all soon find out what really matters - what a majority of 'average voters' think, and who's name gets stenciled on the capital building office door. One voter's messiah is another voter's moron, and vice versa.

now THIS should be interesting ...

    (snip)"
Ex-Madam Kristin Davis Plans to 'Bring It On' in New York's Gubernatorial Debate
The One-Time 'Manhattan Madam' Says She Supplied Call Girls to Eliot Spitzer

    By JOEL SIEGEL
    Oct. 18, 2010

Kristin Davis, the one-time Manhattan madam who says she supplied call girls to Eliot Spitzer when he was New York's governor, shares a stage tonight with state Attorney General Andrew Cuomo and all the other candidates in the only debate of New York's gubernatorial race.

Davis is running for governor as the candidate of the Anti-Prohibition Party.

She was guaranteed a place tonight when Republican Carl Paladino demanded that Cuomo debate all the third-party hopefuls, and Cuomo agreed.

"It won't be hard to stand out in a crowd of middle-aged white men so bring it on," Davis wrote on her website when her participation was assured. "The good news is that I have 11 days to figure out what to wear."

Getting noticed should not be a problem for Davis, who says she is 35, sports tattoos on both arms and is routinely described by New York's tabloids as everything from an "escort empress" to a "busty bottle blonde." (snip)

(snip)"Davis' candidacy is the source of much speculation in New York, mainly because it's being guided by Roger Stone, a veteran Republican operative who's become something of a merry prankster – or trickster – in state politics, depending on the point of view. Stone also has been informally advising the Paladino campaign.

Under Stone's tutelage, Davis created Anti-Prohibition Party and obtained more than the 15,000 signatures needed to put the party and her candidacy on the ballot.

Is her presence an attempt to siphon the support of women voters from Cuomo? Is an attempt to get under Cuomo's skin, or to embarrass Spitzer?

Davis says no, she simply wants to put her notoriety to good use -- advancing an agenda of legalizing marijuana and same-sex marriage, cutting taxes, decriminalizing prostitution and allowing the spread of casino gambling.

She says she also is out to expose the "hypocrisy" of a legal system that forced her to do time while "corrupt politicians" roam free "(snip)

(snip)"My background is finance. I got into the escort industry because it was the economically viable thing to do … I didn't come from a 'working girl' background."

Before entering the sex business Davis spent 10 years in the securities industry. She began as a trading assistant and eventually oversaw the back-office and government-compliance operations of a hedge fund, according to her website. (snip)

Kristin's got my absentee vote @!!!!
