    Travel Steak Chains- Your Choice??

"For that price, I could jack off and have myself a good steak dinner."

This rejoinder by a coworker to a dancer asking price for a handjob coupled with recent In-N-Out Burger Poll inspired idea for this poll. If you had to choose between the 3 more upscale steak chains, which one you would choose? (Choices- Mortons, Ruth's Chris, Shulas

Ruth's Chris is by far the best! Everything there is amazing, and the service is impeccable. Morton's is good too, but IMHO nobody holds a candle to Ruth's.

I've never been to the other two, so I chose Ruth's Chris. Although my favorite steak chain is Eddie V's! Its steak and seafood though and not all over the place like the others.

Morton's without a doubt, Ruth's Chris is a close second.

    None of the above.

I am proud Smith and Wollensky patron. MMMMM Cajun ribeye and lobster with their green ginger sauce...And rich old men galore!

I used to live literally around the corner from ruth's in downtown philly, sucked. morton's is decent but I dislike my city's spot.

I chose Ruths Chris because I've never been to Morton's. Now I feel like I'm missing out..

You can't go wrong with any of those. The best of the three is probably Morton's but the best meal of the three that I've had was at Shula's.

However, I prefer independent joints like Bern's, The Chophouse, etc.

The BEST steak joint I ever ate in was in Houston...the Hofbrau...but it's closed now.

Of steak chains, the best is Smith & Wollensky.

I once thought that Smith and Wollensky was better than any of those listed in the poll, but IMHO it has gone downhill in recent years. I also like Ruth Chris and Morton's but IME they are not always consistent from visit to visit in meat quality.

IMO the best chain is Capital Grille - I have never had a bad experience in one.

I haven't eaten at a Mortons ever, but I ate at Shula's in Orlando (disney property) and had a great meal this past summer. Ruth's Chris is better steak though, at least I think.

I had never heard of Ruth's Chris 15 years ago when I went to Palm Springs CA. We went there to eat and it I was floored at how good it was. The signage made it look like a Ponderosa. When we got the bill, I realized why it was so good.

This is definitely NOT a nationwide poll. (I've never heard of 2 of the 3 places and have never seen the one i've heard of, and I do get around some.)
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

NOTE: anything I post here, outside of a direct quote, is my opinion only, which I am entitled to. Take it for what you estimate it is worth.

S&W NYC has gone downhill definitely. Philly is still FAB but it's on the Rittenhouse Sq which has another steak place, Barclay Prime which is fancier, to complete with plus across the sq, Capital Grille, Prime Rib(even if it is a spin off of S&W), Morton's, Ruth Chris and
Butcher and Singer, Fogo de Chao, and Del Frsico's all within BLOCKS.

There is no room for fuck ups.

Chicago S&W is still Fab too.

I agree with Rick. The best steaks that I have had at a chain were at the Capital Grille.
