Gosh... whenever someone on SW posts their diets it's just amazing...

Mine would go something like "lunch: half of a vegan gyro wrap
peach mango kombucha, 44 oz coke
    300 calories" LOL

^i was thinking the same thing! lol. i generally eat healthy but totally kill it with something from starbucks or a soda. btw, i'm forced to eat healthy...damn you gluten free body!! i'd totally post but i don't want the health nuts jumping on me for only eating once or twice a day...i'm lazy and lose weight fast if i cut calories (i.e. meals) i know it's not healthy and blahblahblah i'll gain it back, but really i don't...don't know why. i don't exercise often either...if i did i would up my food intake.

    Lucky thing, you.
I'm one of those that has to eat, like 200 calories meals every 2-3 hours to lose weight. Lol.

But yeah... I always kill it. It's the SO... he's constantly drinking soda or eating popsicles or sweets... I steal bites throughout the day.

i've never struggled with my weight until i started this one med (damn being crazy) and i gained 15 pounds! now only 2 pairs (out of maybe 10+) fit...i hardly weigh myself and then i did and almost passed out (ok not really but you get the point). i dunno if it's because lately i've been drinking a shit-ton of soda or what. i know when i was w/ my ex i'd eat whatever he was eating and i gained a lot of weight and super extreme high anxiety allowed me to lose weight, too much actually. so i'm interested to see if my not so recommended diet will continue to work with these meds i'm taking. if not, i'll try to jump on the healthy wagon...but god damnit i can't eat any bread, cake or cookies (or other deliciously equal gluten items) i want soda or sooommething.

i yo-yo between 118-138...at my height anything below 120 and i start to look skeletal...i like a happy medium. perhaps my young fast metabolism is actually slowing down as i get older.

    sorry. /rant

Great idea..taking responsibility for your food intake & you can go back & see how you felt with different foods. Also putting the time of day will give you some great info when looking back.

I want to be as disciplined as possible before I go out of town October 28th. I would like to look perfect by then. Cutting out the greek yogurt (so now I consume zero dairy) has really made a difference, thanks to whoever suggested that to me!

Your caloric intake is not the main issue here. Your macronutrient ratio is. Your diet is way too heavy on the carbs and without adequate amounts of protein. No matter how much exercise you partake in, you will struggle to lose fat with the carb/protein ratio you are ingesting.

^ Any thoughts on how to improve upon that? Genuine question. I thought I knew a thing or two about eating healthy, but the more I learn, the more clueless I feel.

Jadenraine's intake seems healthy to me - so whatever mistake she's making I could be making too. How do you know if you have the right Macronutrient ratio?

    Today:

Breakfast - Orange Juice (was in a rush, I usually eat breakfast).- 180

Lunch - 2 soft chicken taco's (medium sized tortillia, chicken, lettuce, tomato, salsa...) - 500

    Snack - Tortilla chips - 220

    Dinner - Sushi (6 Salmon w/avocado, 4 tempura shrimp), spinach salad. - ???

Cals: Over 900, probably around 1400 (I wonder if I can look up calories in sushi?)

Exercise: Sundays mah day off, yo!

I had a can of diet soda today as well, and a lot of water.

I've been feeling like a piggy all day, but when I write it out it doesn't look like I ate much at all. Did I miss something.....*thinks* Hmmm.......

I always try to eat five small meals a day, each one with a protein and either fat or carb. By fat, I mean a small portion of avocado, a handful of raw almonds, a healthy fat. By carbs, I only consume complex carbs, most of the time from vegetables (sweet potato, bell peppers, tomatoes, fruit) As far as proteins, I consume a large variety, a can of low sodium albacore tuna, baked tilapia, baked salmon (once a week at the most), buffalo steak, ground turkey breast, chicken livers, lamb burgers, baked yellowfin tuna steaks, beef cubed steaks, baked chicken drumsticks, and baked chicken breast. I try to not only eat lean meat, but also organ meats and some animal fats, as those are essential in conjunction with a high protein diet. I try to consume at LEAST 100 grams of protein per day, but aim for 130 grams.

No, I don't mean just sugar. Your diet is also way too high in complex carbs as well. Everything you are eating is a lot of carbs with a little protein. This is a built-in obstacle with vegan/vegetarian diets, and you will be unfortunately fighting an uphill battle on this issue, due to the fact that almost all (if not all) vegetarian sources of protein also deliver a significant amount of carbs at the same time.

You need to discover sources of carb-free protein to move your macronutrient balance over to the protein side, while reducing the carb side of the equation.

Look into buying a protein supplement from a company called Vega. It's a vegan protein mix, that should help shift your ratios a little.

I've always been told to avoid soy, unless it's very very pure, like edamame. But soy milk, soy protein, will make you significantly more bloated. It also messes with your estrogen levels.

The increased protein will help keep you feeling sated longer. You seem to be very diciplined on this plan. Good luck! I consume under 1200 a day. With daily walks or runs, it is definatly helping me shed the last 20.
