    Default pole tricks

for the girls who avoid pole tricks for whatever reason, I have a quick story for you

last night (which was sunday one of the most dead nights at my club) no one was at the stage so I decided to practice pole tricks. I climbed the pole, flipped upside-down and slid down into a handstand with my butt up against the pole supporting me and with my legs spread into a split.

a guy walked over clapping and handed me 100 dollars NO JOKE! he was glad that I was actually doing something instead of standing on the empty stage like the other girls before me and told me how much he loved watching me.

sometimes guys want you to put on a little show for them ;] it's not always about hustling

I don't know that it's necessarily pole tricks... it's that customers like when girls actually try instead of walking around with an "oh well" attitude.

I've always said you should always put on your best show every time you go on stage. That way, when you have a bad day... you actually have a right to complain. Lol.

I don't have a pole at my house I practice at work. I doubt your stage is packed all the time so there's plenty of time to practice. at my club there's only one girl who's as good on the pole as me and she only works one weekend out of the month because her main club doesn't schedule her to work every weekend. I think it really makes me stand out.

well I only do floorwork when a customer puts money down so for me it'd look weird to stand there shaking my butt for nobody. the pole tricks grab attention though

I don't have one I just practice at work. and yeah the bruises suck lol I was lying down one night a few months ago with my arms stretched out and my bf was like "holy shit your arm looks like it's about to FALL off!" literally my whole entire tricep was black and blue. not much you can do about it. once your body gets used to it you don't bruise as much. I hardly ever bruise anymore.

    this.

a lot of newbs mistakenly think that it's all about their stage skills and pole tricks. it's not. it's about a great attitude, looking like you're having a good time on stage, and being able to connect/relate to your customers => which you can all do on stage without having to do any pole tricks.

I've done a pole dancing course and I know quite a few tricks, however I find it's pretty wrecking for my body, I've hurt my foot really bad when climbing up the pole, so now I've pretty much stopped doing the tricks.. And I honestly haven't noticed a difference in my stage tips. I've seen heaps of girls who are amazing on the pole, but they just do the tricks and don't show any emotion/happiness/enjoyment. Personally, I think it's great to show off some skills, but it's not the most important thing. I don't do anything fancy on the stage, but I SMILE and genuinely enjoy myself and that's what really matters to the customers.

it works for me though because it helps me enjoy myself. if a person hates doing pole tricks or doesn't see the point then yeah I guess it woudln't matter.

I see what you're saying though. I guess in my case it helps me enjoy myself because I like the reaction I get when I do something really crazy and the customers see that I'm having a good time putting on a show

it is KILLER on your legs and arms but if nobody's putting tips down I can't really think of much else to do with myself. everyone's watching me and it would be awkward just standing there smiling. like I said, it works for me. such a good work out too!

I love pole dancing, so it's hard for me to get on stage and not touch the pole even if I know that nobody gives a shit. Also, I find that female customers and couples really appreciate it for some reason.

Pole tricks always worked great for me cause they're an excellent filler. Nobody at the stage to do any of your more subtle but more intimate moves for? Just do a pole trick. It takes up some time, looks impressive, and at least you're trying something. I've gotten tons of guys up to the stage by doing pole tricks. They can see me from across the room and can tell I'm putting forth some obvious effort.

Am I the only stripper who is pole-tarded?? Or am I just not practicing enough?

I am a fairly muscularly-dense person--especially my legs--and I'm wondering if my build prevents me from picking tricks up. I don't know what the issue is, but I seem unable to do anything exciting pole-wise.

Did the customer who tipped you for the pole tricks buy dances? In my experience they tend not to.

Tonight will be my 9th night straight of working. I did pole work the first two nights (fri & sat), then did a few minor pole tricks during the week so I wasn't getting bruised up or sore... in preparation for the next weekend shifts.

Most of the time I do limit my pole tricks in clubs. Too many times the clubs don't have secure poles either. Maybe if I was at the same club all the time with a secure pole I would do more tricks, but traveling around I've seen far too many poles fall out of place.
    Don't you ever sleep?

actually yes he did. he bought two. when I got off stage I went over and talked to him. he was really nice and liked the fact that I was staying busy. he hadn't planned on buying dances from me at first, but at the end was like "why the heck not? I can't say no to a pretty face like that".

and holy crap 9 days?! I would die haha I can't work more than 3 days in a row without feeling burnt out

Tomorrow will be the 10th night. The club I'm at now we are on contract. Basically if the manager thinks you'll be a good worker you pay $100/night to work... for 10 nights - regardless of if you work the night or not because it's a 10 day contract ($1,000). I paid off all my house fees the first night so I got a discounted rate of $800, plus I still had to pay the $400 for housing - which I paid the next morning to the home owner. I heard the manager gave some girls 2 days to pay, but I paid all of mine after the first shift.

I'm glad it worked out for you. Most of the time though it doesn't work like that. Most of the time all the wild & crazy stuff you see on stage doesn't translate to lap dances because most guys don't find it sensual. Now, if you are the next Felix Cane... different story.

At our club - the girls who make good money almost never do any pole tricks. I guess I am a slow learner, I do some amazing pole tricks, it does not pay well and lately my upper back hurts all the time... But I work at a neighborhood club with no cover charge and lots of illegals. The girls I notice who make the most money are very engaging and they are giving extras or doing two dances for the price of one, which is hurting everyone.

that's true. and if there are guys putting dollars on the tip rail, I won't fuck with the pole. it's a filler. I do it if NO ONE is tipping or sitting at the stage so I don't just stand there like a moron lol
