i've never been able to do pole tricks. even when i was 115 pounds. i'm muscular too. sometimes i could pull myself up and wrap myself around, but it hurt soooo bad. but i'm not very strong. and i've got very soft and fatty hands that feel like they're getting pinched. mostly, i just think my abs are kinda weak. even in shape with visibly defined abs (not a 6 pack, but definitely nice looking), i wasn't working my abs at all. a lot of pole work seems to be based on a strong core. my back is strong, but my abs are weak. and i don't want to do ab work, because i don't want a thick waist. so i don't think i'll ever do pole.

i could probably pick up a couple easier moves if i practiced a lot, but i don't care that much, and i'm not willing to practice in front of custies.

^ Yeah, maybe I'm just not dedicated enough to practice. It's hard to tell how hard the girls who are really good practice, because you never really see them practicing!

Really interesting what you said about core strength. I have a toned core, but probably not a very strong one.

the top earners in my club don't do pole tricks. and one of the best pole dancers in my club is always complaining that no one appreciates her and that she never makes money.

it's definitley about girls who give a fuck vs the bored looking ones.

I had a tremendously awesome night this saturday. Money was really good, but all of my customers were awesome as well. Almost every person I danced for had come to my stage to tip me for my pole work, and I landed a $500 customer because he and his friends thought my pole-work was badass. Well, that, and my tattoos. Still, they said they were bored by the other girls, so sometimes it does work. But I genuinely enjoy pole-work, and I think I'm pretty fluid. I get high when I do a lot of pole stuff, because it feels sort of like flying or floating I think that shows in my face, and that gets me a lot of dances.

that's exactly why I love it! I love feeling my muscles work when I'm climbing or doing an advanced move. twirling around on the pole is so much fun especially because when I first started I was scared of hurting myself but now I've mastered so many tricks that I'm not scared of falling and I just enjoy it

ask one of the girls at your club to show you or get a pole at home and learn from youtube videos. I'm literally the ONLY girl at my club who does pole tricks so I had to teach myself everything. it takes time but it'll happen

I find if it's busy and I'm doing pole tricks on stage the customers are more interested in just watching without buying dances, they'd rather enjoy the free (awesome) pole show. However if it's quiet doing tricks will help me get noticed and guys are more likely to come up and tip me/buy dances.

This is how I learnt too! When I very first started I had another girl show me the basics but pretty much everything I've learnt since then is from just practicing when it's quiet then getting a pole in my room and studying youtube clips obsessively!

One big n00b mistake I see is that thinking pole tricks are the ONLY thing that will grab attention... so they spend a lot of time doing tricks that they don't really know/aren't very good at.

If you can't flip upside down and hang by one leg without almost falling off the pole, having to desperaretly grab back on with one hand whie akwardly stopping yourself from falling on your head with the other... it's better to stick with a few simple spins or graceful poses while the custies are in. Lol. If you REALLY want to do pole tricks... it's better to stick with ones that look good, imo.

I've never done more than a few basic tricks (though I can do more) because I make more money on stage interacting with my cusomters than hanging upside down. And I've always been a top stage earner anywhere I've worked.

pole tricks definitely help sometimes but you can still give a great show just dancing. I can do some cool stuff without the pole and i am for sure the top earner in my club for stage. just be energetic and happy and customers will appreciate it

I'm split on this because, it really depends on the girl, the club and the customers.

If there are a lot of young people and couples, doing pole tricks on stage will definately help you out. With these crowds I notice they will tip a lot on stage but, only buy a few dances so if it means abusing my body and doing a crap load of pole tricks ie. front handspring onto the pole.. lots of upsidedown tricks to make money, I'll do it.

I personally don't like to work my body this hard on a regular basis. I'm in shape and I enjoy pole tricks but, it takes a serious toll on your body if you're working a lot

I'm also really big into buying off stage at my main club. It costs $25 and on weekends we have a 5 stage rotation. So it's really worth it, I would much rather work the floor all night.

Every girl is going to have her own style of what works for her, some make most of their money on stage doing pole tricks..

.........I like to lapdance my brains out instead...
I like to party.. So I like my Jesus to party too.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but my pole tricks have always been a big help for me. They tend to help me stand out and I notice I get tipped more on average then other girls I work with.

Very true. Practice at home/during dead times, and only break out the tricks you're confident about when it's money-making time.

As I've said in every "pole tricks, yes or no?" type thread, it really does depend on your club. I work at a club where being blond is a HUGE draw for a lot of customers, so pole tricks are my way of "upping the ante" over those girls, emphasizing my aggressive personality (another thing that makes me stand out), and staying really happy on stage, even when I'm bored otherwise (because pole tricks make me ecstatic).

Whatever you do, always make sure you're happy on stage. That's the biggest money-maker for you up there.

i do polework when im bored, wanna exercise or want to command the attention of a busy room. because im always working i never have time to work out so i just work the pole a little each set. girls at the club taught me basics when it was slow and the rest you kinda pick up on your own by watching others

Quality is DEFINITELY a major part of decent pole work. At my club, almost everyone did pole tricks, but very few would do them well. A girl would do a trick ten times more complicated than anything I could do, but she would look like shit doing it. There was one particular girl who did the most hideous tricks I've ever seen. Just...weird stuff. It didn't look flattering, especially because she never pointed her toes or arched her back.

Stick to what you know, and what you do well. Doing pole tricks poorly will definitely not pay off. It will probably lose you money. I didn't learn how to do any major pole tricks until I'd been dancing for about a year and a half.

I am in the middle for pole skill. I have a pack of about a dozen tricks, none of them too fancy. I throw them in whenever I feel like it or when it goes with the music. They do help to grab some attention, but as our top earner put it "You can't make eye contact when upside-down." She doesn't "dance" on stage, mostly bops about and stomps and smacks, like a sexy little blonde rhino of wallet-crushing . . .

We have one girl that likes to make her money entirely on stage. She spends almost the entire time on the pole. Generally, customers are split by those that are impressed and want the best dancer in the club and those that think she looks conceited when in actuality she is just concentrating very hard.

I find a trick-loaded set works well when there's lots of energy in the club. Large parties and groups with women are won over by smiling and clear enjoyment of what you're doing. I'm never afraid to have a shit-eating grin on my face when spinning around and climbing. When I have a set target I like to make him feel I'm showing him my moves personally - sometimes eye contact upside down isn't so difficult.

^ i have a pole at home. no idea how to use it (i can get up there, and wrap myself around it, but the pretty stuff eludes me). lol. but i bought it 2 years ago, and it was extremely easy to set up.

just have to be able to understand and follow instructions.
