Default To all of you: THANK YOU

My name is Mersh. I came across this site years ago when I was working in the industry. And the help I received on this board was invaluable. I left the business in '07 as my stand up comedy and radio career began to pick up steam. But after a failed marriage, and a stormy exit from my show, I ended up homeless, owning just 3 bags of clothing. So I settled in South Florida and have just found a job DJing for the first time in 3 years. I need the income since my ex left me with nothing and I am trying to self release yet another comedy album. Needless to say, I am more than a bit nervous, as well as rusty. But I am living on these boards the last few days refreshing my music and brushing up on my old MCing skills. I am already stressed out and nervous enough...but having this board makes things that much easier. I want to sincerely thank the creators of this boards, as well as all of you regular contributors. People like me need you guys. Thanks again!

It's funny. Because as we all know this can be one of the most vicious businesses to be in, yet it seems like this board isn't overwhelmed with people flaming each other constantly. Seems like most of the folks on this site are fairly good eggs.

And I don't know ANYTHING about the club I am starting at. In fact, it's under new ownership and management and mostly restaffed. So there's no telling which way it will go. I've worked in a few clubs in my life, and it seems like it's 50/50 whether or not I end up miserable. So thanks for the well wishes...

Awww! This is so adorable and it made me smile. Welcome back, and I really wish awesomeness for you. It's kind of funny, because I'll see posts from other dancers where they're nervous about going back to dancing. But once they get back in the groove, it's like riding a bicycle ya know? Same for dj'ing. I'm stoked for you! Good vibes my friend

    UPDATE:

Just got back from my training (more or less a "let's get all the rust and dust off of this out-of-practice douche" night at my new club and I just want to say it was AWESOME! Now sure, it's just one night and I could easily be bitching by next week. But even though it's been a few years since I've done it, there is something much different about this club compared to the experiences I've had in the past. The level of courtesy and professionalism is much higher than I was ever used to. So I was panicking all weekend for nothing. I begin picking up shifts this (or next) weekend. The sooner, the better....as I officially have 28 cents and need to start ASAP.
