Default 15 most disturbing movies ever made

    Any thoughts on these??

I've never seen Salo, Antichrist or Irreversible...those sound interesting.

I do think An American Crime should be on that list as well as The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things, but it definitely gave me some ideas on some movies to watch tonight. Any movies you'd like to add??

YES. Audition was great. Upsetting as all hell, but well-done.

As much as I like Lars VonTrier, I thought Antichrist was just kind of stupid. And [um, spolier I guess?] Willem Defoe ejaculating blood is more inexplicable than disturbing.

Oh and Saw & Hostel? Cheap gore, flimsy stories, stupid. Disturbing on some level, but standard torture porn. An insult to horror filmmaking. Ya know, not like I have strong opinions about it or anything.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind disturbed me. I can't believe that movie was marketed as a comedy...

I liked the original Saw, but then it just got out of hand with all the Saws. What are they on now?? Like Saw 7 in 3-D?? Sequels always seem to ruin a good thing.

I agree with Hostel, I was very disappointed. Was expecting much more gore.

I'm sure that this totally does not fit into what you had in mind for a disturbing movie thread... but Atonement was really disturbing for me.

I'd like to add Gothika to the list.
That and Stir Of Echoes...both creep me out....not really so much disturbing (well, the idea behind them are kinda disturbing), but they're just creepy.

    What's that about??
I'm reading about it on IMDB, but I guess I'm having trouble finding interest in the storyline they're giving. (sorry!)
Hoping your storyline or general plot of the movie will be better.

My husband was just talking about Faces Of Death, he says it's all REAL murder/gore scenes...anyone ever see this?

I dunno if I can watch something KNOWING it's real.

I think that most of the Faces of Death have been debunked as fakes. That said, I don't want to see them.

I only saw it recently, like last week, but American History X kept me awake at night.

Not even the curb-stomping scene, which everyone always talks about from this movie. Just the whole thing.

I'd definitely put Pan's Labyrinth on the list.

Also some weird German movie I saw years and years ago, can't remember the name but it was about a teenage couple who run away and get lost in the woods; they've never had sex because the guy can't get it up. They end up being captured by some creepy dude and locked in his cabin with some other guy that creepy man kills and chops off his dick - feeds it to limp dick boy who a day or two later realises he's gay when he gets hard while having sex with creepy killer dude.

Yep, that ones definitely on the list.

Deadgirl was more disturbing than all the movies i've seen from that list. Happiness also.

No such list could be complete without Eraserhead 1976 American surrealist film written, directed, and produced by David Lynch. That's the most fu&^ movie I have ever seen.

I also think "There Will Be Blood" could be added. What the hell was that movie about again???

Brazil and Clock Work are brilliant movies at least.

It definitely has its boring spots. It isn't a horror movie or anything. But it's emotionally wracking. One of the few times a movie has made me cry.

When I read the titles I thought you were asking what ours were and irreversible came straight to mind. Theres this long rape scene that actually made me cry and I never cry at movies
Its subtitled and alot of gay stuff fisting etc and violence but very graphic and 'raw' I thought it was an interesting watch.
