Default Creating a blog/home with limited funds.

I have 25bucks I'm willing to invest into this, as of now. (I'm cheap with this stuff). I have a blogger but it seems kind of simple and boring. What is a better place to go with a snazzier feel that I can get for 25 bucks =p

You really don't need ANY money. Wordpress is pretty cool and you can make it as tacky you want! It has lots of cool plug-ins. What are you wanting to do with your blog?

Have you thought about just opening up a clips4sale account or an adultwork profile to upload videos? I would love to hear what other people are using for the password protected video site. I have never thought about that! Definitely sign up at wordpress. They have loads of cool things. I am just figuring it all out myself.

I think my blog is a nice example of quality and free. I could be partial to it, but whatev.

eventually I'll have it direct from a domain, and eventually eventually I'll do a real site with a member's area and a lot of frustrating java... but for now we'll be a nice custom graphic'd blogspot.....

Thanks, y'all. My best friend is a graphic designer for a super christian company so she made a really hot mock up for me (to prove that sex & good taste could mix) and then gave me a crash course in button making so I could perform for her.

The first 5 or so buttons I made, she laughed at, of course.

It's a lot easier than I thought it would be. You just use a -lot- of layers with their layer effects, use the bejebus out of a feathered eraser, and keep on manipulating until you come up with a nice base- then you can use that for everything. For cute icons, you'd just nab the ones with transparent backgrounds from google image search.

Once you get a hand for what looks good as far as gradients and highlights, you're set to go. And once you make a few bases that fit the bill you can just keep on adding layers to the PSD file and make your saves while you're only viewing the layers that compose that particular button. I have.. 3 button files, but a LOT of buttons within those 3 files.

You can make a button in 5 minutes once you have your base file set up.

Banners, no idea. I've just been attaching photos to other photos and putting layer-effected-text on top of it. I know the mechanics of a flashing gif but I have yet to bring myself to use it! LOL.

i guess another blog plug lol..
nah but i love my blog and take a lot of pride in it. my blog was free, minimal effort, and gives me a lot of promotion. I'm all over the internet but everything links back to my blog, which links back to everywhere they can spend money on me online. It's traffic picks up a lil more each month and there's a positive correlation of blog traffic and sales on the sites i'm on so i know it's working. I try to make it as personal as possible to build relationships, i think a good blog is important in building a fan base.

I bought a domain name from iwantmyname.com and just applied it to my free Tumblr hosted blog, Im currently setting up a Wordpress blog which I will transfer my domain name to when its all ready to go.

In the future, I plan on having my own members website, Bella Bellini has a great members site that she made with a wordpress theme and third party members software, that way you arent paying high percentages to people like clips4sale, etc.

Wordpress have the cleanest themes, the best plug ins, user friendly interface, rank well in google and you can buy gorgeous themes for dead cheap too, you can also make password protected posts.

Wordpress has the "password protect" option. I haven't tried it yet, but you can create a new "Page", then on the right hand side under "Publish", Edit the Visibility. You can click "password protected" and create a password.
Wordpress is free, and they add new designs all the time.
