    Default flexibility

how flexible are you? I'm not flexible at all I can't even get close to a split I've gained a little bit of flexibility from dancing but not too much. I've been stretching a LOT every day while reading and watching tv and I want to be able to do a split. I love watching a girl on stage who's flexible.

I used to be a lot more flexible than I am now so I'm upping my yoga to get my flexiblity back.

I would love to be able to do the splits.

I never really got into yoga. I tried it before and it wasn't my thing. I just get into a position where I can feel a stretch and sit like that for hours

I'm pretty flexible. I can do the splits, I can arch my back & get the heels of my feet past my chin, I can sit & tuck my feet behind my head. I can't think of much that I'd really want to do that I can't do. Most of the flexibility tricks don't appeal to me, & I don't use them on stage these days.

I am sooooo not flexible. That has to be one of the biggest things I'd change about myself if I could. When I'm into a working out kick, I stretch a lot and can increase my flexibility a bit, but no amount of stretching will ever allow me to do the splits.

I would also love to be more flexible. Stretching and yoga might do the trick, eh?

A certain amount of flexibility is determined by your genetics, and you can't go too far beyond what your joints and ligaments will do on their own. BUT.

If you're not feelin' the yoga, you could a different stretching routine. I know there are some DVDs intended for martial arts students, designed to increase flexibility. These are awesome and feature dudes in black belts doing splits on folding chairs. Production quality = nil.

I also found one called The Broadway Dance Center Active Isolated Flexibility. It's a video made for dance students, and is an hour-long program. Pretty intense but I've had really good results with it (due to my inexplicable and unquenchable desire to touch my shin to my nose while standing). A ballet dancer friend of mine watched it and said it's good but that you should be careful because it's potentially dangerous. Of course I'm not careful .

    Here it is -- http://www.amazon.com/Broadway-Dance...9004784&sr=8-2

Production quality on it is also the pits. But it does the job. Very focused on hip flexor and hamstring, which are what you need if you wanna do the splits.
