I'm in a similar boat GothicRose84. I start back dancing Monday after an 8 month hiatus from an outside of work injury. 5 months of laying on a couch has left me untoned, once again lol. But trust me, it's intense excercise. I was soft and squishy when I first started dancing. 2-3 weeks of that and the softness toned up well. I just have to start the process all over again lol

(admittedly, the idea freaks me out and is causing a good amount of worry lol)
As for the clubs, knowing what type of club it is will give you a better idea about how they run and their "standards" come audition time. Are they uptight? Laid-back? Do they work with the girls to make them feel at ease? Are they picky?etc. Just something to consider.
Another thing you might try, is if you are a bit self-conscious about auditioning, is to wear an outfit that compliments and draws attention to the parts of your body you are confident about. I like to wear skirts instead of booty shorts, seems to flatter my hips better, and goes with my boots

. One girl at my club has stretch marks (since that is something you mentioned being frustrated about), and she wears the fish-net like shirts, with a triangle top underneath. It looks cute, and makes everything else unnoticeable.
(long post, I'm sorry lol)
Am sorry you feel crappy about the audition process though

, I can definitely sympathize with your plight. But listen to the girls that are encouraging you. They will provide great morale support and other advice. (don't let the boyfriend/date bring you down though. If you want to do this then he will have to understand or get lost. Never let a guy make you think less of yourself.... guys irk me like that lol)
Anyhoo, sorry sorry for the chattiness. And if you dance, you'll tone. That's pretty much a guarantee (as long as it's not just 1 day a week or something, then it'll be a slower process heh). All in all Good Luck and think happy, positive, money-making thoughts
