    Default Stripping Body Basics??

Hey everyone- What is the 'norm' for dancers when it comes to body hair? Lose everything from the neck down or just maintain the usual places? (legs, underarms, bikini area) Also- I was on the stripper-faq site and she says body makeup is a must, but I've read on the forums here that it can be bad news since it could rub off on custies. What is the general consensus? Finally- what about extensions? I bought some clip in wefts from sallys and theyre OK but not spectacular.... what kinds of extensions are reccommended and how do you make sure they don't get all wonky or fly off when youre dancing?! Thanks!!

I'm guessing you're talking about things like arm hair? It depends on the person, if you just have peach fuzz on places like your arms, back, or stomach, don't worry about it. If it's dark and noticeable even in dim club lighting, you should probably maintain it. Nair or lighteners (like Jolen bleach) are easy and can work wonders.

You probably don't need body makeup either, unless you're hiding skin imperfections or tattoos. Being tan also does the trick. The only time I've used makeup on my body was for the scratches my kitten made on my boobs.

I use clip in extensions from Sally's, too. : ) To make sure they don't come flying out, I tease the roots of my hair where they're going to attach. I also detangle them constantly & wash them every few uses.

I shave my legs & bikini area, that's it.

If you bleach your body hair like Seashell mentioned, be sure not to leave the bleach on too long or it will cause the hair to turn a yellow-ish color & glow under black lights.

Guys do complain about body make-up, many dancers wear it anyhow. Just try to not put it in areas that will rub against the customer a lot. If you do & it rubs off on his clothes he probably won't get dances from you next time he is in the club. You can also use a sealant or "final seal" like Ben Nye to seal in the makeup so it doesn't rub off as easy. You can pick-up Ben Nye products at most costume stores.

I shave my arm hair every time I get in the shower. I've been doing it since I was 14. It's been a part of my routine for so long that I hardly even think about doing it. I can't ever imagine going back to having hair on them. Nobody has ever commented to my arms looking weird from being hairless, I think hairy arms look more noticeable in my opinion.

That can be true for sure, I think I will shave them or nair them..... I think I'd prefer a dipilatory (sp??) like nair but I havent had a lot of sucess with it to be honest. Does anyone know a good at home wax kit or hair remover that works really well??

Pretty much any of the Sally Hansen waxes that you have to heat work well, but stay away from the ones you don't have to heat up.

I am very fair so scars and bruises show up a lot on me. I use Dermablend's body makeup, and I've never had a problem with it rubbing off on customers. If anything, I have a hard time getting it off, even in the shower.
I use it on my legs a little past my knees, but not really on my thighs or butt. I do use it on my crotch area to hide razor burn and redness. I also use it on my chest (above my boobs) because sometimes that area gets really red and splotchy when I drink or exercise.
I also don't sweat a lot, but maybe that would make it rub off easier for someone who does.
