Can you do them? I have always wanted to do them but despite being in dance classes since the age of three, my right front split has gotten 2 inches from the ground, my left front split is about half a foot, and my straddle split is like 9 inches. ugh.
I talked to a girl at work and she said she could never do them and then one day just forced her body into it, like mind over matter, and now she's the most bendy thing ever.
Can you do splits? have you always been bendy? Did you have to work at it to get it that way? Does your flexibility go away when you don't stretch? Do you have a stretching regimen to maintain your flexibility? I practice yoga and gradually have gotten more flexible, specifically my hamstrings, and side body muscles- but my splits are just not there yet.
I am 2 inches away from my right front, and I can hold myself up by just my fingertips now, I feel like within a week if I stretch i'll be able to just chill there. Once I can do it, I'm going to just sit in the split all the time, while on the computer and reading and stuff to maintain the flexibility.
