The only thing I find odd is the lack of staff. I've worked in some small clubs (at one time there were just 3 dancers) where we had just security and one waitress/bartender but if they have lots of girls I'd expect a few more staff.

Oh man! I totally would not be able to do that!!![]()

Your options are to:
-Abide by the rules.
-Break their rules and face their consequences.
-Quit and work elsewhere.
-Sue them.... Everyone seems to be saying that club rules are violating their rights. Yeah, I think a lot of clubs are violating labor laws and workers' rights.... however, we do choose to work there. Meh.
Is it legal to make sick person come in to work to verify that they are deathly ill? I don't know. I do know it's not logical....
I also suspect that you like your club. And I assume you make good money there (microwaves and lotion do not a good club make!).
Forget about this weekend and change your work schedule for the following weeks.... Just plan ahead.

I'm a little confused by your OP. Do you have to work there EVERYDAY or something? Or is it that when you schedule yourself you HAVE to come in? There's a big difference there.
Asking a dancer to come in every. single. day. is WAY too much. Asking dancers to show up on days the schedule themselves isn't asking a lot; all adults have to do that.
If they're asking you to work every day, or more than 4 days a week I would find another club. If they just require you show up for your schedule shifts then I would stick it out.
Weird they have such little staff though.

Register for a weekend class / print out details / then cancel ?
Just brainstorming...
A schedule is one thing but no flexibilty is aittle much.
This whole thing is really odd to me.
I have never heard of a club drug testing their girls.
I have never heard of a club that wants you to work every night of the week.
I have never heard of a club that wants you to come in if you are sick.
Clubs with schedules usually want you for 4 shifts per week, 3 if you are in school. That is pretty standard.
I do not know wtf is up with your club....
Try to make a schedule with them that you can keep. Work one weekend night so you can spend the other with your man.

In my opinion, the best thing about being a dancer is the freedom & flexibility it gives you. Working at a club with such strict rules sounds like a real downer, when you're already working your ass off, dancing naked.![]()
Well, a job is a job. They want you to show up and not do drugs. Fair enough. However, for some people (me haha) the flexible schedule is one of dancing's main advantages.
Since you mention that the club looks a bit small, and not with many dancers it is not surprising that there is a small staff. It happens with small clubs. I have seen a manager/ DJ/ bouncer before.

Are you an employee of the club or an independent contractor? I've never heard of clubs drug testing girls or forcing them to come in if they do not have a letter of proof for their absences. Usually clubs that mandate a schedule will fine you or make you work extra shifts to make up for the time that you missed but they do not fire you if you call in sick. That seems a little too extreme for me because normal employee jobs don't even do that.
The only reason you should stay is if the money is very good. If it's not or its just mediocre then it's worth trying a new club. Being so strict can put stress on you especially if you have other things like school going on in your life.
No no, sorry I wasn't clear. The girls have to work 5 nights a week, unless they can prove they have another job that requires 40 hours a week. They're closed on Sundays so that leaves two off days atleast. In my case I only have to work 4 because of my school schedule (night classes)
He clearly stated I was an independent contractor when going through all the rules. But I definitely feel like more of an employee. When I first signed up I was like, "Man I kinda like how strict it is.." And now I just feel sick at night thinking about it.
You can't change your days as far as I know, none of the girls have ever changed days except one who had a death in the family. Even the girl that got jumped in the parking lot had to be there the next night! For Christ's sake omg okay sorry I'm tweaking. I'll just deal with this for now. You're right a job's a job, thanks girls.
How much are you making on average a night/week?
Personally, I'd have to be making a top amount of cash for that to be worth it! One of the main perks (for me, at least) of being a stripper is the flexible schedule, so having someone tell me I'd better be there and dancing the same night I was really ill or had someone close to me *die* or something.... yeah no way.

My club is EXACTLY like this except it's not clean or nice or anything it's a fucking dive. I had pneumonia and got shit about being out for a week.
I got one doctor's excuse and will be scanning and editing it every time I need/want off. Fuck them.

I recently switched clubs because of my old clubs rules. They did schedules sat night (closed on sundays) and u made ur schedule for the next week. Sucky, but fair enough. The big kicker was if u were sick, or had a legit reason to not come in, they fined u $100 for each day missed. So if you had to miss 2 or 3 days of work because you had the flu or something, u owed the club 2 or 300 bucks. One girl had an ear infection to the point she had fluid coming out of her ears, and asked to leave early. The manager told her "its Saturday night, if u leave, ur fired.". All the girls would go in sick after that, (and we all got sick at the same time) because we didn't wanna pay the hundred dollars per night. So for about a week that club had nothing but coughing wheezing dizzy dancers. A bunch of girls left after that incedent and went to the club I'm now working at.they had minimum drinks u had to sell, normally 50 dollars worth per girl", and the last night I worked there they upped it to 80. And we got a measly 15% from the drinks. So not only did we have to hustle for dances, but drinks we weren't really making shit off of. For two drinks, the custies could've bought a dance and that would've been money for the dancer, but nope, drinks mainly went to the club. The new club doesn't give dancers commision for drinks, which is great. Because then we can focus on the big money. Not a measly dollar and 50 cents from a ten dollar drink. Ugh... sorry I had to rant. If ur gonna stick it out there, just remember, there's always gonna be somewhere better, and somewhere worse. Its up to u if u want to stay.

Oh... rant continued. The second day I worked there, my grandfather passed away. I told the manager, and she told me if I left work I would be fined. I was bawling in her office and she was still just worried about money. Those people were dirtbags. Ok, I'm done now![]()

Wait.. nope. Not yet. My hubby just reminded me; a girl swallowed glass because a stupid bartender didn't switch ice after a glass got broke over it, she was coughing up blood andd wasn't allowed to leave. God I am sooo glad I got out of that shit hole. We need to start a thread on the shittiest clubs we've worked at. Boy do I have some stories! I still wonder what happened to happened to her. I would've told them to shove it. That was my last night I worked there.

Sounds alot like my club.
I think you should be somewhat grateful that your club is strict as it is. This means that there will be a lack of extras girls. You will get the good type of customers coming in. And it just makes for a clean club atmosphere all around.
haha.. jcmarch. sounds like my club a lot! cell phones out on the floor, smoking, etc etc is $100. Club takes half of everything, which is whatever. You have to be there a half an hour early and every minute late is a dollar fine.
And yessss I suppose I'm glad my club is strict. I do want a little flexibility but atleast the girls aren't thieves or on drugs. Those things aren't tolerated at all.

you're not in WI are you??!! It sounds exactly like my club except for the drug testing part..

Um if I was sick or coughing up blood there would be no keeping me there. You are ALWAYS allowed to leave. They can't forcibly keep you there and there are tons of other ways to make money.

They are illegally treating you like an employee. If you have to put up with all that then you should be getting paid by the hour with benefits. The perk of this job is being able to make your own schedule and having the freedom that regular jobs dont have. they take half of what you make?? Thats crazy at least go check out other clubs to make sure u really wanna stay there.
