Ok, I've had some major health issues lately. I finally found out that they are all caused by hyperparathyroidism. I have an appt with an Endocrinologist the day before Thanksgiving. It usually takes 3 mos to get in to see the guy, but he worked me in within 1 week because the way my symptoms presented points to a single, large, parathyroid tumor. (Yeah, apparently out of the huge list of possible symptoms, people with one large tumor generally have different symptoms than peeps with generalized disease over all 4 lobes. Sorta scary.
I also just quit drinking and had DT's so badly that I had to be hospitalized. While I was in the hospital, they did an Echocardiogram. I got a call today telling me that they saw a large cyst on the Echo and have been fighting with my insurance to get them to approve a CT with dye. I have to go in on the 29-30th for blood tests to ensure my kidneys are healthy and they are doing the scan on Dec 1st.
The kicker?? The most common treatment for most cardiac cysts? Surgery. They crack open your chest, put you on a bypass machine and cut them out, being careful not to rupture the cyst and cause either a massive clot and therefore MI or stroke, or if it is infected, sepsis and therefore most likely death from congealed blood.
I'm trying not to think about it. Send me boobie pics and distract me or something! lol![]()

Good luck with it hun! It's probably best to have them cut out though honestly. Just make sure after the surgery that you take good care of yourself & your skin so you don't end up with scarring. Get yourself some Aquaphor ointment.
