Default Thank god for the smoking ban

My state's indoor-smoking ban went into effect at the beginning of this year, and I can't believe what a difference it's made! I've worked a couple nights here or there recently at the last SC in town that allows indoor smoking (loophole) and towards the end of the night I'll get headaches, which I never get at my non-smoking club, and my body (eyes, lungs, skin) feel like absolute fucking death the next morning. My hair & clothes stink so bad it makes my bf sick. I'd forgotten how bad it was cuz I'd gotten spoiled working in non-smoking clubs for the past 10-11 months or so. But really, I feel sooo much better not having to be around that second-hand smoke for hours on end anymore at my home club. I can only work at that smoking-club once a week, maybe 2 days MAX possibly (which I haven't even done yet), because at this point I don't think I'd be able to take it. Anyone else's club go from smoking to non-smoking? Did you notice a difference in your health and well-being?

I feel you, girl. I can't handle working at that club for the same reason. But you already know this, lol. I love not coming home smelling like smoke. I really like my street clothes and dancewear not reeking of cigarette smoke.

Smoking bans rock. In my state everyone was whining about how it was going to make business go down hill...guess what, it didn't! A lot of guys liked it actually. Especially older guys who said they could come in more now that they wouldn't have to go home to their wives reeking of cigarette smoke.

I'm so glad there's no smoking in my club. A few customers complain, but we have a covered smoking area that they can go to, so they can suck it up. I love not reeking of cigarettes when I get home and having to inhale all that second-hand smoke.

Oh god yes! I'm so happy it's banned here too!!! I don't smoke and when they all pack in there on busy nights and all smoke about the same time you can just see the smoke everywhere...it would burn my eyes and they would always water and make my eyeliner look crappy and I would constantly get smoker cough just from the secondhand smoke. All of my outfits smelled like an ash tray...I somehow miraculously managed to get it all out after the ban.

oh and lets not forget how much I DON'T miss the stupid ass 18 year olds trying to look cool and don't really know how to smoke and blow the smoke in my face!!!! yuck!

I actually like smoking inside the club. I only smoke at work, I don't even get cravings for cigarettes outside the club, but when it's slow I'll lean up against a wall and smoke and I've had guys approach me and tell me how sexy I look with a cigarette lol.

it's also an incredibly good opener if you see a guy sitting there bored you can go up to him and be like "hey can I bum a smoke off you?" then let him light it for you and then sit with him without talking for a couple minutes. it gives the illusion that you're spending your "break" with him. guys love that shit.

I love non-smoking clubs. Of course that places I go most often still allow smoking ....

I have an awesome story....I remember in Missouri when I was working at Softails they didn't let this one bitch with no teeth work since they wanted to pretend we had SOME standards. She left. I noticed our patrons were disappearing outside. I asked one and he was "Uh, I'm going to go smoke a cigarette". Being the good little girl from Albuquerque, I didn't question this. I noticed several other patrons getting up and exiting discreetly. WTF? This is Missouri, a shithole redneck state! Of course they still allow smoking indoors! Oral sex is still a sodomy offense, but fucking a sheep isn't!
Anyways, I go outside and see the toothless wonder servicing several patrons! I got pissed and called the bartender/manager. They called the cops, but since there was no proof money had changed hands they could only charge her with public indecency or some shit.
