I actually do alot of these moves (granted I do them differently, I have my own way of flowing into each one) but there were a few things I don't and really want to try so thank you so much for posting this video!!! I got something I want to try now!
The reason I can do most of these is because of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKcK8GEFY_k it was very tricky for me at first because I have crappy upper body strenth but I promise you that you will be able to do it if you really want to and just practice it on your floor at home. Once I got this move down I just incorporated it with my flexability and came up with a badass floor routine. But if you notice that trick is how she did alot of her moves just with different "spins" to each one to make it look different. Thanks again!![]()

I've seen that tutorial. I actually found it pretty easy minus the slight shoulder pain afterwords haha

Yeah you will have slight shoulder pain at first but trust me it goes away. It's just that your shoulder isn't used to having your body weight on it at first. It will get to where you can do it effortlessly and not even the slightest bit of pain or discomfort...it's actually fun!![]()

that roll thing at the very beginning of the video.... i did that and pinched a nerve in my neck and also sprained my neck??? lol just had a drs appointment to confirm and they even did an x ray to make sure i didn't break of a piece of vertebrae. how do i prevent this in the future..... dont want a broken neck. is there a proper and improper way to roll like that? thanks SW's, i feel like a short-buser lol




I took 10 minutes out of my day earlier and learned to do this, LOL.
I've always wanted to but never bothered to check it out.
I was really surprised how easy this is.
Dunno if this helps... but rolling straight back with my head/neck straight hurts my neck too... so instead I tilt my head to the side so there is actually no pressure on my neck. From the point where both shoulders are touching the ground, I tilt my head to the right and roll so the side of my head and my left shoulder are the points on the ground (my neck never touches). I'm still rolling straight over... it's not wobbly or to the side or anything. Just my head that's tilted to the side.
There's still a little strain on the muscles in the left side of my neck... but it's nothing compared to trying to roll straight back.
i love her flexibility n overall tone.





Honestly, is nothing special; I know waaaaaaay too many dancers that can do this, and I'm learning how to move like this. Is not really hard, but it takes time and strength to accomplish.





^^^ Agreed. Athena Downs has been teaching these same moves for years & she looks much more graceful doing them. As for the bum flexing moves, they are nothing special. I've had guys claim they would pay me hundreds to shake it, & I've passed every time. I did too much of that when I was younger to think that it's anything special or takes much talent.
