Thumbs down I actually sprained my ass.

Well, actually my upper hamstring, but close enough.

Worst of all, this happened in front of a client. When wrestling him for his masochistic desires. I lean my weight to push him down to the floor, and OUCH! My goddamn hamstring. I could then barely stand, so I literally had to end the session and apologized profusely and limped to my car to drive home in utter humiliation.

Am I fucking OLD or something? Already? I'm only 21! And I'm 5'11 and 127 lbs, so I should be in good shape.

I don't exercise at all (or eat healthy for that matter), but I didn't imagine I was such a weakling GEEZER that I can't even push someone without practically breaking a hip.

Anyone ever have this happen, especially while dancing, when you're performing. What did you do, and how long did it take to recover?

He was really nice about it, but shocked that such little exertion injured me. sigh

I sprained my hip flexor was I was, like, 16 and in (probably) the best shape of my life... from tapping a soccer ball to someone standing 5 feet away. LOL
I could barely walk or sit up for a week+. It was awful!
Idk if healing time is the same since they're different areas...

But I figure they're probably similar enough to compare.
It took me about 3 weeks to full recover. It hurt BADLY for a week... and then I had to take it easy for another 2 weeks after that.

I was on stage when I pullled my siatic muscle. I bent over and then a huge amount of pain I couldn't even stand up straight and still had two songs to go! It was painful for about a whole year...very painful. I started exercising and stretching and I don't feel it anymore unless I don't stretch for awhile.

I've pulled a hammy to the point where it looked like I got hit with a bat in the back of the leg. Take some anti-inflammatories & get a massage. That will get some blood flow to the area & speed up the recovery.

I have a lot of injuries from when I was dancing and doing gymnastics. The soft tissue injuries are the worst. I'd almost rather break a bone. My old dance teacher used to have us do a very long warm up that I'm only now starting to appreciate. I'm pretty young, but I can feel a lot more stiffness than I did at 16 and I definitely need the warm up time now.

I snapped a hamstring doing a standing split during a lap dance five years ago. I still have flexibility issues in that leg today. Mine took three months to heal, because I could only take a week off work at that time, and I had to learn to dance very different in order to not be in screaming pain on stage. Take some Advil, stay off of it, and alternate hot & cold packs, always finishing with cold.
I truly feel your pain. I hope you feel better soon.
