Search Do you ever just sit and listen to how often people talk about strippers?

It completely amazes me. I feel like several times a week someone is talking about strippers or strip clubs. I'm not out to many people so they have no idea a stripper is listening to them.

Today, without me bringing up anything SC related, a friend of mine was talking about her husband's friends who have married strippers and how all strippers get fat when they get married. Many othe friends/aquaintinces of mine will just randomly mention something about strippers too. People talk about us all the time! It kinda makes me feel special that there's such an obsession with strippers in our society, even though often I wish they were saying more positive things.

Sometimes I'll say something but other times I ignore. I remember when I was in college and one of my professors was telling a student that "strippers are just whores". I can't remember the story but the student wanted to write a story about stripping and he said that. Unfortunately there's far too many strippers who do fit the stereotype so normally I don't say anything.

I've heard so much talk about strippers by people in other occupations. They don't like us but can't stop talking about us. I used to speak up and defend "my friend who is a strippper" but I'm exhausted of it and just let it roll off.

The world is full of idiots who like to put down what they don't know or understand in order to feel superior. Sex workers will always be treated with disdain, especially by women, who see us as a threat.

Really can't blame them, though. These days when a man visits a strip club there is a good chance that he will have the opportunity to engage in some sexual act. There is some truth behind the stereotype.

I know! It seems everyone has a predetermined opinion about us.

This is why I always analyze people by their conversations about strippers. For example, the women who complain about us are often in relationships, and obviously have an insecurity issue and are perhaps worried about their partner's "wandering eyes". It seems many people are trying to scapegoat us for some personal problem, men and women. Or cover their asses from their own involvement!

I love hearing nuetral or positive things about strippers. It seems like with men and women they seem to be testing the water to see how other people feel about strippers because they're curious about SCs (either interested in going or becoming a stripper!).

These are just my theories of course, but it keeps me from getting upset and looking at the real reason people say the things they do about us. It's just amazing how often people have strippers on the brain! Now if we can only turn that into getting us on their lap... that would be a good night!!!

If you mean me, I'm long done with club dancing, but yeah these types are always the ones in juries. Luckily I never got busted.

can't say i've heard people talk lots (or at all, really) about strippers, both while i was dancing for money and after i quit.

there is probably selection bias to whether one hears one's compatriots speak of stripping or not.

If it's men usually they talk about strippers the same way old school safari hunters would brag about nabbing a big and elusive quarry. -_-

We're something like a unicorn to these fuckers.

As for women, most of them are just jealous, fat insecure cunts that can kiss my ass.

(this is coming on the heels of Bobby's girlfriend who apparently does not want me even NAPPING on his bed while chris and bobby play gears of war)

Keep in mind this is during the day, there are 3 of us and I'm huddled next to Chris.

Yeah, I'm gonna stick with my own kind

    ^hahaha!

Again. Everyday I hear something. Yesterday my bf's brother's friends were talking about going to a SC, in an attempt to make me jealous (this is why I'm a man-hater). But they kinda freaked out when I said I had to leave, and I hope they have fun!

ughh I heard boys in my class saying "strippers are never hot" LOL I felt like saying "well you obviously havent been to "x" (my club)".

I also overheard girls telling stories about strippers being gross and rubbing their pussys on guys faces etc. I felt like saying "oh really? because I got paid to hang out with a bunch of guys on the weekend, drinking champagne and doing cocaine while dancing at a mad house party for 5 hours and never had to get undressed. Certainly didnt put my pussy on anything and made $800 cash"

Of course I say nothing and probably just have fire coming out of my ears. LOL

Bingo! There are some people who will start up on these tangents that I will talk to about it simply to help dissolve the stereotype. Others though, they are too far gone. My only hope would be that during a jury trial they would not be selected because they are too much of fanatics. I'm pretty much the same way though, I know damn well that most people wouldn't want me on their jury - I would never say that I thought the death sentence was okay, & by my job as well as personal beliefs alone I'm sure many lawyers wouldn't want me on the jury. Ironically I've been sent 3 jury notices & had an actual reason for not being able to participate (moving), but I'm waiting for the day to see if I'd actually get picked...

+1 It's like you took the words straight off of my lips - just in a more abrasive fashion! LOL I don't care if someone doesn't like what I do. It's legal, I find no shame in it, & I'll laugh about it all the way to the bank!

This reminds me of the people who say "If God didn't want us to eat meat, why did he make it taste so good?" (this joke being reiterated by your friendly vegetarian)

Only in our case it's like "If we were meant to wear clothes, why weren't we born with them on?"

^^^^^^^^ I've just had enough bullshit from bitches like Bobby's girlfriend. If I was some uneducated neurologically challenged bitch with a minimum wage job working at K-mart and treated Chris like shit, that would be ok.

But since I'm not she feels threatened.

I like to hear the postive things such how good we look, how postive and cheerful we are, how girls are able to do pole tricks, how we can walk in such shoes

Then there are comments we mainly hear about being whores and all that. Being in college, I heard a fair share from male class-mates... One in particular claimed a stripper wanted to put her pussy lips in his glass... They talk about us how we're mysterious creatures... which I love, either they hate us, or they love us.. but either one keeps them coming back!

Living in Vegas, the stripper talk overheard in bars, casinos, and even the mall is constant. And extremely entertaining. Usually I just smile and eavesdrop for a minute, but if I hear a lot of negative stereotyping I feel like I have to say SOMETHING and usually put them in their place. It's always funny when it's at our favorite bar or restaurant & they have no idea that the 3 or 4 hotties sitting with that guy in the corner can hear everything they're saying & they're all dancers, lol. It's even funnier when th girls react or say something, the dumbfounded looks and reactions.

I was raised LDS and maybe that's where I get the "hafta set them straight" complex. I've been out of the Mormon faith for many many years, but when I hear people talking about Mormons and filling others heads with misinformation I HAVE to say something.

Mormons, Strippers, politics, or anything really - I cannot fucking stand to hear ignorance perpetuated. Drives me nuts, lol.

In this respect I think the internet has helped spread false information. There are so many "experts" in everything and they claim they know it because they read it, or knew someone who knew someone who knew something, etc. I've gotten into arguments on another site with a woman who claimed she knew radio marketing because she "listened to the radio". Forget the fact that I worked in radio marketing, have a degree in radio, but because she listens to the radio it makes her more of an expert than me. I also argued with someone who claimed that women over 30 were infertile. I told him that my doctor told me of cases she knew where a woman had babies naturally even into their late 40's. I guess my doctor is less of an expert than a man who read it online on a message board. Just a few examples. I've read so many false information about everything it drives me nuts. I hate to say it, but there are people here who push the idea that strippers are whores. Not all of course, but some.

I love listening to people talk about strippers when they dont know ive danced. Cause usually it is a negative. One of the funnier ones was a girl who id only recently met was bitching about her boyfriend going into a SC on a night out, apparently these evil dirty devil whore sluts had had the audacity to assume that he might want a dance!! He hadnt of course as he was HER boyfriend and why would he ''have a burger when he had steak at home'' etc etc. She later showed me a photo of her boyfriend on her phone and it transpired that the ''burger'' he didnt want cost him over £100 as he'd had a half hour VIP with ME hahahaha....i didnt like to burst her bubble, but i did buy her a drink (with her boyfriends money!)

My fiancee's best friend Josh is a state trooper who has had made some pretty poor choices in sex partners...they're usually moderately attractive but impressively stupid. He'll stop fucking them, but they'll still come around and try to renew his interest. I've been around some of them, and for some reason, they'll frequently bring up stripping...they'll be kind of negative about it, but then twist it into this whole "I could do that and be so much better at it than any stripper," obviously trying to get him turned on picturing them dancing. Once this girl tried to do the sexy lean over in your chair, then do the hair toss and come up real quick move, and butchered it sooo badly that I choked on the wine I was drinking. None of these girls EVER know that I'm a stripper...but Josh knows, so we'll just grin at each other while these girls make their pathetic bid for attention.

I'd really rather they get it out of their system at his house, though, rather than come to the club to try and get a job. They're the girls who think all they have to do is get drunk and look pretty and dance like they would at a club in order to walk away with thousands. They never last very long.

^^^similar to when customers come in with their girlfriends, dont like not being the centre of attention and end up ''dancing'' on their man (as if to prove owenership, or get naked or try and play on the pole! One girl was so insistant that she was better at my job than i was that she insisted she was going to come and get a job dancing to ''prove that she could do it'' then went round other customers bitching about the girls and telling them she was way hotter than we were until she was eventually removed from the club.

Yes Kelly, that is the burden instant communication has saddled society with - anonymous bitching and claimed expertise is no longer relegated to the corner bar, lol.
