Default "Thank you for asking me to dance for you," said the stripper

Little things mean a lot. Here's a quick story that proves it.

In a Paris club almost two years ago I requested a table-dance from a stunningly beautiful Hungarian stripper. She was tall, dark-haired, had wonderful eyes and a magnificent body. We're talking James Bond-movie material here. We had a brief and pleasant chat before I asked for a dance.

Anyway, before the dance began she addressed me by name and said with a smile: "Thank you for asking me to dance for you." I felt special. At the end of the dance she said: "It was a pleasure to dance for you." By now I was in orbit. A private dance followed soon after.

This lady's sense of customer service was the best I've encountered. I got the impression she was a delightful person and that courtesy came naturally to her. But the way she began and finished the table dance made a huge impression.

It's nice, but it seems so formal. I think the majority of men I dance for would be like 'WTF?!???' if I thanked them for asking for a dance before I started. Still, it's very interesting that it made such an impression on you.

Some dancers DO need a lesson on courtesy and respect though (as do many customers).

Oh, and we have Hungarian girls at our club, they're SO HOT! What's in their water?!?!? Lol

you would be surprised at how often guys compliment my manners when I talk to them. I'm only 20 and I look VERY young for my age so it just doesn't quite work if I try to be this over-sexified woman so I do come off a little formal at times, but it's not actually a bad thing. you can be flirty and polite at the same time, it gives you a VERY dignified personality. you're comfortable with yourself, and you are respectful.

being polite makes you come off more real to them. think about it, if anyone says "thank you" to you for any reason (other than sarcasm), do you ever go "wtf?" probably not. guys aren't stupid. they realize that you're trying to make your money, but it's probably more of a turnoff when the dancer feels like she's entitled to their money. thanking somebody for money should be common practice no matter what you do for a living.

^ I didn't say I wasn't polite. I always thank a good customer. I do think thanking a customer for one dance BEFORE you do it is a bit much though, essp. In a party atmosphere.

I've had a few dancers thank me for watching them onstage.
    Now THAT'S customer appreciation!

I never said you weren't! I do agree that the strip club is a party atmosphere but everyone's hustle is a little different. some girls make money being super bitchy and maybe that one girl the OP was talking about made money by being over the top polite lol. *shrugs* whatever works for her I guess.

i love being asked, so of course i'll thank a custy for that. but it's hard to say thank you afterwards, since i've mostly danced at clubs where i spend the whole time getting groped and saying "sorry babe, you can't touch my pussy" over and over again. and i'm not thankful for that. or the ones who spend the whole time bitching that i won't jerk them off or fuck them, and why don't i meet guys otc, i'm not thankful for that. and i don't want guys who aren't totally disgusting to think they deserve to be thanked. i want them to think that how they acted was how they were supposed to act, because it is.

now, if he gives me a good backrub or a tip or is extraordinarily polite, of course i'll say thank you afterwards.
-love everyone but keep them far from your soul-

Im usually well mannered with rspectful customers. I say, thank you to them and act nicer with them. Opposed to customers who try to dry hump you like a dog get no respect but a "its $X.. now!"

The fact that the other guys at the table heard what she said boosted my ego, of course.

The fact that this delightful dancer was the center of attention from a number of guys at adjoining tables - but that I was the only one for whom she was performing at that time - did wonders for my morale.

It shows that courtesy and respect is a two-way street.
