So tomorrow is my 1st night dancing! I'm excited & really looking forward to it, but I'm also prepared for what may go wrong just from reading all the "1st night" threads on SW.
The one thing I'm concerned about is that I didn't really do my research on the club I'm gonna be working at...My audition was my 1st time being there & that was early Tuesday evening & I was only there about an hour.
The club doesn't LOOK that bad, I mean it seems clean and everything, and the few girls I saw were decent looking. The dressing room is just a few mirrors on the wall in a basement, there's no lockers or anything & the girls just kind of had all their stuff scattered everywhere, purses and everything!
What I found odd is that there is no DJ. Dancers have to pay a dollar to play whatever 2 songs they want for their stage set from the jukebox. And there were a few times where nobody was playing music and it was just silent! Apparently there is "sometimes" a DJ on Fridays and Saturdays. There was one guy standing at the door taking money when people walked in, but he was drinking and I would hardly call him "security"!
There is no housemom, they're only open from 7pm to 2:30am, they fee is $10 that you pay at the beginning of your shift, $15 if you arrive after 7:30, except it goes up to $20 and $30 on Friday and Saturday.
I've heard anywhere from $20-over $200 fees from reading on SW, but nothing as low as $10. That leads me to believe there's not much money to be made, right? And has anyone ever heard of, worked at a club without a housemom or a DJ?
I know I should have probably been a little more selective, but I'm gonna give it a try and see what happens. If anything, it will give me a chance to get used to dancing & get in shape a little more, so if I end up wanting to switch clubs I won't be a complete newbie!
Sorry this is kinda long, but thanks for reading, any feedback/advice is appreciated!!!
