    Default Getting approached by dancers?

My friends and I went to a club last weekend and after we grabbed a beer my one friend was approached by 4 different dancers asking if he would like a dance. He said no to all of them but they completely ignored us and just walked away, I was hoping to get asked. All the girls were different too, asian, black, blonde, brunette. Could it have been our demeanor or body language that told the girls we weren't interested? We were leaning against a wall and he was away from the wall and in a high traffic area.

Just curious as to why that happened and what I can do next time to get approached. Thanks.

    1. Keep a small wad of $20's subtly visible in your hand.

    2. Ditch those friends (who's to know what they're doing wrong ? ) and hit the club by yourself.

Just be patient, you'll get approached.

Funny, my one friend was doing something right to get asked like that.

Did you guys try to say to the dancers? Or something like" What about me? I want some dances?

There is nothning wrong for you to ask a dancer for LDs. It has happened to me quite a few times when customers either stop or walk straight to me and ask for a LD.

Maybe some eye contact and smiling would help?
Being a shy lady myself, I know I find it easier to approach people who seem like they want me to approach them.

You needed to show some interest while the girls were in your vicinity. Or told your friend to direct the girl or girls to you. Almost without exception, once a girl finds out a dance is not forthcoming, she moves on. And I can't really remember a situation where a dancer polled all the guys in a group hoping to find one who would do a dance. She doesn't want to be told no by everyone in the group and she's made her availability known.

Ummm, the OP gave it away immediately. They were leaning against the wall. In most clubs, that's an indicator of a perv who wants to watch the free show and not be bothered by dancers and waitresses trying to sell them something.

I would approach guys sitting at the bar before talking to anyone standing against the wall.

Get yourselves a table, and you will get approached.

Makes sense. I have to say I was a bit nervous and leaning against the wall was my way of shying away. I tried making eye contact but they weren't looking my way. It also makes sense that the girl is not going to go to each guy and get turned down. Thanks for the advice everyone, I will get out there next time and be more approachable.

    ^^^That just might work.

But also am curious...out of a group of guys, do dancers first approach the best looking one or the one who seems most likely to buy? Or just any member to make herself known?

    1. Most likely to buy - guy who appears to be the "leader" or is already tipping other girls and buying dances
    2. Any member to make herself known

So I am guessing you are one of those that think women become strippers for some sort of fun or sexual pleasure?

No of course not but if you're on the job dancing for one guy might be a bit easier than for a sleazeball. Just asking anyway, it's not common knowledge.

i go to whoever seems most interested in me, but not like the type of guy who historically is a time waster.

it's like that movie "a beautiful mind". do you remember that theory about going up to the plainer girls first? it's like that. though, for some reason, the better looking ones usually like me more than the less attractive ones, so i need to try going straight to them.

I go to the one with relaxed body language. Legs uncrossed! I love it when i walk by and a guy makes eye contact with me while uncrossing his legs!

There are a number of simple strategies to apply in this situation.

If you see a dancer you like:

    1) Wait for her appearance on stage; tip her; ask her to come sit with you when she gets off stage.

    2) The next time a waitress walks by, ask her to let the dancer know you're interested. (Important! Tip the waitress for doing this!...additional benefit: waitresses are great friends to have in the club)

    3) Approach the dancer on the floor yourself. Some dancers love this and will treat you very special just for doing this (see other thread in this section).

I am extremely introverted but have successfully used all of the strategies above.

because guys who show off money usually just use it as bait, but don't spend it. they expect girls to come over, give them time and contact for free for a while, then say no or give a girl a dollar after she wasted an hour throwing herself at them.

and really, how fucking tasteless does it look when a girl doesn't come over till you flash money? do you know what'll get a girl to come over? looking her, holding her gaze instead of darting your eyes away as soon as she notices you looking, making a gesture with your hand or head to signal that you'd like her to come over or continuing to look at her as she walks over. (a lot of guys stare, then when you start going over, they realize you are coming over to talk to them and maybe ask for a dance, so they look away. it sucks cos then you look like a dumbass, since the choice is either to stop and turn around or keep walking up to a guy who obviously doesn't want you to come over. ugh.)

you seriously don't even have to show off money or tip at stage or go over to her or get the waitress to ask. all you have to do is make it obvious that you're attracted to her. for very shy guys, it's probably a lot easier to get a waitress to do it. it could also be good to ask the dj, since all he has to do is call her to the dj booth, instead of a waitress taking time to find her for you.
