Default What I've learned so far!!!

Just want to share what I've learned so far hopefully this helps other newbies or girls interested in dancing!

Stand out! My 1st couple nights I noticed that all the girls wore similar outfits, had similar hairstyles & did all the same moves on stage! So I purposely try to be different. It seems like guys are more drawn to me because the other girls just kind of blend in with eachother. I don't care how great your outfit/hair/pole trick is, it's not gonna impress anybody if they've already seen it 5 times that night!

Be friendly, but stay out of the drama! When I say be friendly, I don't mean tell the other girls your life story & make plans to hang out outside of work! I mean smile say hello, be generous when tipping out & avoid confrontation. I tipped the bartender $5 my 1st night cause I kept asking her for water. None of the other girls tipped her (it's not required) and she stayed an hour after we closed to teach me some pole tricks! When the other dancers are bitching at eachother, which they do often, I get out of the way before they find a way to get me involved!

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT let custys talk you into things you aren't comfortable with. In only 3 nights dancing, I've had like 15 custys either ask for my #, ask for sex, or ask to hang out outside of the club (which is the same as asking for sex! lol) Thankfully I joined SW a few weeks before I started & got it drilled into my head that these are major no-no's! It's not smart, it's not safe & it's not worth it!

Ok that's all I got for now! Feel free to add your own

Thanks for the tips. I haven't started yet (hopefully by January) but I value the knowledge on these boards. I've been lurking for about a year and have used the wisdom to give me the push I need. I have about 20 lbs to lose before I'm stage ready.

Thanks, this is great advice! My original plan was to start in Jan, I've been working out like crazy trying to tone my stomach more, but after some family issues, it looks like Ill be starting within the next couple of weeks.

I'm more of a rocker chic, so I have blonde/brown hair with black streaks in it, and tattoos. The outfits that Ive been purchasing are black and leapard print or red. I think its hot when strippers have that rocker look and dance to rock/alt music on stage. Hopefully this works for me!

don't snort suspicious white powder in the dressing room! It might be baby powder that a sadistic little bitch left out as a prank

It's ironic I've always wanted to dance, but the reason I waited so long to start is cause I was insecure about my tummy (I have a little pouch & some stretch marks). Some things came up & I needed money fast so I said fuck it I gotta do this now, plus dancing will help me tone my stomach faster! I wish I would've started sooner! I've got one of the best bodies at my club & half of the girls look like they're 4 months pregnant! Lol. But the bottom line is they still make money! Regardless of what you see on TV and in magazines, a lot of guys don't like a "perfect" body. They don't mind if your packing on a few extra pounds, or even if you have stretch marks, cellulite, etc. Dancing is NOT all about looks! It's about your personality, your hustle & how you market or sell yourself!

Precisely! It's also about learning how to be a chameleon and change your sales pitch in order to gain rapport with different types of people. The best entertainers can appeal to all different types of demographics.
