Default What to do if you don't speak the language..

Hi girls! I was at work last night, and came across a situation that pops up from time to time, so I wondered if anyone had a technique or a line to deal with this. I walked over to a table of asian men (suits, ordering multiple drinks, looking the part of the spender) and threw down my usual greeting and patter. The men said about one sentence to me in flawless english, and then started talking animatedly about me (the hand gestures clued me in to that fact) in another language. I tried playing cute-upset (aw...thats no fair, I can't understand you..or something to that effect) and even tried just to bulldoze my way into the conversation, but I was just ignored. Then when I went to leave, they told me to wait, and asked how much. I ended up standing there like a grinning idiot for five minutes wondering if they were still discussing a dance, or had moved on to sports and forgot I was there! Any ideas? How would you deal with this?
I take cash, debit or credit. I just don't take shit.

There's really no good way to deal with this other than exactly what you did. Act dumb/cutesy/curious and of course flirty. But guys love a dumb girl for some reason. I used to work at a mainly french club and je parle jus un petit peu de francais...mais je sais mon meilleur they loved it.

Asian guys love it when you're all like "ohhhh I can say a few words i japanese !!!*insert poorly pronounced japanese here* teach me more!!!" Sometimes they will go off in another language and you just have to do your very best to engage the whole group, so you become the centre of the conversation: try asking questions to all of them, and talk about yourself to the whole table, not just one guy. Try to pick up on which one might be the most interested in you and go after him once you've established yourself at the table. If they ignore you, chances are they're either not interested, or think you'll stick around for a while: if you say to them "ok, well, I'll leave you guys to your conversation for now, I'll come check on you in a little bit." they'll either buy right then before you leave, or...you can just move on and find a better table!

I ask them to teach me something. I now have a collection of about 12 languages I can say 'cheers' in.

If they spoke perfect English to start with then they probably speak more. What did they say to you?

If someone asks you the price, cozy up to them, give the price for the time you've spent with them (aka pay me for the time I spent here), and then give the price for dances/VIP rooms etc. Or you can say "You look like you are ready for the best, let's go talk to the VIP host!".
    Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

    1. Grab a napkin
    2. Write down what you want
    3. They probably know english and dont want to use it

It's really bad in Denver when Im there. When I worked in El Paso it was horrendous.

I tried to speak serbo-croatian when I was in Serbia with my boyfriend. I can get by okay on it.

I am fluent in italian which is half of my heritage but cant write it. But yes I hate it when people can speak english and are militant about not.

El Pisso sucks. They know more English than they let on, especially "free" or "sex"

I always try to keep flirting and ask for a dance, even if we don't understand each other. Flirting is universal! You can try shaking your boobs, or doing a little air dance to show that you want to dance for them, and then use your hands to tell them the price. When I do this kind of thing, it almost always works, and the guys seem happy that I stayed with them and tried to communicate. : ) Just make sure you're doing it flirtatiously and being sexy, rather than looking dumb.
