Default The life of a Utah stripper.

Whoever said strippers make good money must have not been in utah.
I have been dancing for about 2 months and the money sucks. I get so frustrated because people can waitress for more than what I am making. We also have a new manager who is just...ugh I am considering switching from my fully nude no contact club to semi nude full contact club. I think the money will be better but I am a little nervous for private rooms and lap dances. I'm sure I will catch on but its a little nerve racking. When I asked the best way to apply they told me to come to amateur night and fill out an application. I am thinking of going monday but I am not quite sure what to expect. I wish I was 21 so I could go to wendover or anywhere else besides the only two utah clubs for 18 and over. The main difference between these two clubs is that you need to hustle dances at the contact club so I will definitely be looking for help with that in hustle hut if I get the job there.

Ugh...I am sorry sweetie. Many regions are suffering right now. You're also dancing without the years of hustling experience many of the rest of us have.

Maybe this means you should just try waitressing instead?

If you've only been doing this two months then you aren't even close to hitting the peak of your learning curve. Most dancers start to finally "get" this line of work in their 5th year, so you have a long ways to go not to mention competition in a bad economy with veteran dancers. Waitressing could be a better idea if the pay for you now would be better. Just stick with it, get to know the customers (they could be future regulars), & study want the top earners are doing. When you feel like you are ready ask the manager about dancing 1-2 shifts per week to start.
    Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

    WHAT A BIG FAT LIE!!!!!!

I've been dancing for about three months, and I make really good money!!

About six weeks ago I wasn't making a whole lot, but I followed a very simple advice from a veteran dancer, and my earnings increased by a whole lot.

Personality and confidence make all the difference in this line of business. Bubbly personality and killer confidence are the two main things needed to make big bucks; focus on your own dancing, and have a high self confidence, that will make your earnings increase by a big margin.

Remember these wise words from Confucius:

Expect great things from you, and little from everyone else. That way, you won't be disappointed.

didn't you read the line that said "six weeks ago I wasn't making good money"; those 100 dollars weren't that good after all; 245$ is good money!

wow....after a whole two months i bet you thought you would have paid for your big mansion and ferrari by now huh?

dancing is just like any other job....you need to be patient and look at the big picture 5, 10, or 20 years from now....its not instant fame and fortune

I am honestly not trying to be rude but many of us that have danced for longer than three months do not consider $245 to be good money. How can you say that what Kylea says is a "big fat lie"? You have no idea what you might be making in 5 years if you continued to learn new skills and grow into the job.

$245 a GOOD night??? LMFAO. you're kidding right??? I consider 600+ good, $245 HORRIBLE dude. I had a pretty awesome night recently too.. $1800..

Dont cop attitudes when you think youre big shit with your $245 nights.. Kylea is a top earner and only giving her advice from years of dancing and "EXCELLENT" earnings.

but that's the thing - she doesnt want to learn.

she thinks that she knows more than dancers that have been dancing for years, who she calls "old hags" just check out the confidence vs arrogance thread.
she also doesn't like girls who are tan, thin, and have the barbie look.

you might see them as old hags but customers might see them as mature beautiful dancers that know not only how to dance well but can also hold a conversation; customers can usually relate more to older dancers than younger ones.

I think that it is so interesting how many types of dancers you dislike. Based on your posts I've deduced that you don't like:
    *russian dancers
    *other foreign dancers
    *skinny girls
    *girls who are too tan
    *older dancers
    *barbies

is there anybody else missing from the list? any other types you'd like to add?

This. At 2 months... I had NO IDEA how some of these girls were making $200 a night.. LOL
I recently took a break from dancing... I moved somewhere that I was unhappy with the level of contact in clubs and it negatively effected my earnings. I took a break because I was only averaging $500 (a HUGE drop in my average) which I don't consider that to be enough money to make dancing worthwhile (and I'm just at the 5 year mark. )
For some people... it's definately a skill set that you need to LEARN. But it's important to not be discouraged and realize that it CAN be learned.

Not trying to join the fight here... but:

While increasing from an average of $100 to $177 is, percentage-wise, a big increase... I think your statement that you make really good money is... a bit inaccurate. Especially compared to a lot of the girls who have been dancing 5 or more years.

Thanks everyone who had something to say in relation to my post
The problem is that none of the girls in the club are breaking four hundred.
I have faith that If I stick with it I will continue to learn and the club will pick up. It's just dead right now. Thanks ladies

You must be really unattractive and have a shit personality, to make so little money. You are obviously very stupid, because you have managed to convince yourself that so little money is good. It is not.

I've been dancing 4 months and my average is $850/night. I don't consider that to be particularly awesome, but I accept that as a newbie I have a lot of learning and hard work to do to make real money.

why dont we have a facepalm smiley? because this comment definitely demands that....

idk how you can call kylea's post a big fat lie when you are averaging less than 250 a night. ive worked with kylea- she makes more than 250 a night. a lot more.
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

IMO it doesn't even matter. Some girls are happy to walk out with $50, and some girls go home crying if they don't make at least $1000. The money in this industry is way too dependent on one's financial situation, region, appearance, personality, expectations, tolerance levels, etc. etc.

No one on here has the right to judge the earnings of anyone else. We don't even all work on the same continent for god's sake. I hate it when SW becomes a locker room where we're all trying to compare our proverbial dicks. Who da fuck cares.

Now if someone wants to rant about a bad night at work, a non-profitable night at work, ask for hustling tips, life tips, etc, that's a whole different issue. That's why SW is here.
