    Just food for thought...
You're right. The location thing is why I don't consider my average to be anything to write home about. I live in the most expensive city in the US, I have to sell 5 hours of CR just to make my rent, and that doesn't include the fact that I'll be paying 30% tax on my CR earnings because anything I make in funny money is reported to the IRS. I hope that when I'm not so new, I'll be a talented enough saleswoman to consistently sell those hours over far fewer shifts than I currently do, but I just haven't got the experience yet. I intended my post to illustrate that $245 is shit money, not to brag in the slightest.

^^ there is a girl at my club who struggles to make fifteen dollars a night. So maybe to people in more expensive locations that's shit money but to people doing bad in midwest towns think $250 is great. Respectivly, to other dancers at my club $250 is an alright night because the top earners make maybe 600-850 on a good night. Just I thought I had while reading this thread.

I'm really not trying to knock anyone's income... but $250 in six hours is like 2 dances an hour.
I look at it this way: Why would anyone be happy spending six hours at a job and only getting paid for 36 minutes of work? That doesn't make any sense to me.

Some people spend 8+ hours at jobs for like $250 every 2 weeks...I'm perfectly happy bringing home $250 in 6 hours for one days worth of work. Especially since it might be 36 minutes of ACTUAL work. However, I think talking to guys, stage sets, touching up, outfit changes...that's still work to me.

I just think everyone has what they need to feel comfortable making.
PERSONALLY, like I've said before, I'd be fine averaging $250.
I could live comfortably with that.

$15/night? She should quit. I realize that not all dancers work the 10 hour shifts that I do, but even if she only works 6 hour shifts, that's less than the base pay for a waitress at any bar. She'd literally make twice that at a fast food joint. She'd make more than that plus benefits at Starbucks. Strippers don't have dental.

^^ we try and tell her that, what's the point in crying every night? But to each her own.
@desuvsdeath: maybe its just me but It doesn't seem like work to me yet I enjoy it too much. But I will say that after a month of danceing, I'm like wtf at $250 untile the $15 girl walks in and then I'm like well could be worse. However, I make 250 and up on mondays and tuesdays unless its creepy dead (two guys, in that case we shut down early). But that's just how small my town and club is lol.

I think that it is so interesting how many types of dancers you dislike. Based on your posts I've deduced that you don't like:
    *russian dancers
    *other foreign dancers
    *skinny girls
    *girls who are too tan
    *older dancers
    *barbies

is there anybody else missing from the list? any other types you'd like to add?
I am pretty sure this girl is in America only because she joined the Navy. She types with a "foreign" accent and it is really annoying. She said she wears a sarong and a band t-shirt while working. She is probably the type who can't make conversation and only talks shit about other dancers. I used to make between 5-600 a shift when I worked in a bikini bar in her area. Maybe she only works for free pitchers of beer and so she can talk shit about someone who knows there bra size.

Damn, where the hell are you girls working?
I'm just curious because in real life, I've never heard anyone complain about "only making $250".
Is it because I mostly worked at little dive bars at the end of stripping career??

Because I don't really think it's a regional thing. From Vegas to Phoenix to Wisconsin, I've never heard girls in real life complain about making $250.
It seems like most girls were happy about making $250. Or anything over $200 for that matter.
So it must be the fact that I've worked at mostly little dive bars.

Even when I worked at some mid sized clubs (Cheetah's, OG's, Hi-Liter), I've never heard girls complain about that amount of money. Maybe because I usually worked day shift????
I'm just really curious because the only times I would hear someone be a little sad about making $200 was 4-5 years ago when all you had to do was show up in order to make money.

Even then, it wasn't really complaining, it was more like, "Eh, well I only made $250 today. After making $600 (or whatever amount) last night, so not as good."

Out here, girls were happy to make at least $100 it seemed.

It has to be the fact that I've mostly worked dive bars during day shift....or is it something else??

The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

I work in Idaho and honestly, I think 75% of the dancers at my club would be happy to leave with $200 and not complain. Hell, I would even say that many (if not most) dancers in this country would be happy with that amount, given the state of the economy.

However, I myself would not be pleased with that amount. I hustle hard when I'm at work, and work on dayshift where most girls are hardcore hustlers as well. I think being in that sort of competitive atmosphere and having been dancing for 7 years, makes it hard for me to accept $200 as being decent or good, regardless of the economy. I think that is why Jay12's post got so much flack. Many of the girls on this board are superstrippers and don't see $200-$250 as being "good" money and therefore don't think that Jay12's claim that this is good money - valid or accurate.

    I think that's the thing, I knew I wasn't a hustler.
I was totally fine getting paid to drink and party.
Which is why my home club was always the "local bar with benefits".
Just hanging out with regulars, drinking, and (for me), having tons of fun at work.
It was usually always the same guys, so never any hustle.

I was a stripper for 7 years too, and did use to make better money. After I had my son though, something changed. I dunno if it was my confidence, ..or whatever, but I couldn't make myself work in the bigger clubs again and just became comfortable in the dive bars, and comfortable making $200 or so a day.

(when it went down to me being lucky to leave with $50, that's when I had to quit though LOL)

but yeah....I guess it's just varies from girl to girl.

It's all perspective. My first shift ever I made $110 in 4 hours and was psyched that I didn't have fajita grease splattered all over my right cheek, guacamole stains on my right shoulder, and a half hour of sidework to do before I could leave.

At the top of my career, I would skip a tuesday night shift in the middle of the "dead" summer thinking, "eh, it's only $500....i've got better things to do"

I agree with Charlie, it's no one's place to judge how "good" another stripper is by how much she makes.

We all have choices: we can opt to figure it out on our own, we can hope a veteran dancer in or club or on here gives us good advice, or we can invest in sales training. Whichever one you choose will either impede or improve your learning curve.

Day/ night shift plays a huge part in it in some clubs. I was a day girl mostly, and I've worked in god-knows how many clubs in Mass and San Diego. The dive bar I started at, I was very happy to make $250 on either a day or night shift, but once I grew up and moved on to better clubs, $250 was only good for a day shift. For a night shift, though, I'da been pissed.
