You probably want to see about filing for a business license locally, you'll need a model release form for all models, a 2257 statement on the website, & a way to track all of your 2257 information (including what models are shown on which page & a cross reference of legal names to alias names). I'd suggest that you contact PornLaw (Michael Fattorossi), I don't think he practices in TX, but he has a great online software company that tracks all of the model release information which is required by the 18 USC 2257 law. The other thing I would suggest is getting an accountant.
    Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

Thank you... I am going to have to start paying you for your marketing services !! LOL

I actually am licensed in California - located in the middle of Porn Valley - Los Angeles.

You really dont need any license to design or run an adult site. Only adult businesses that are open to the public need to worry about licenses, for the most part. You do need to check with you local govt (city/county) as to the requirements for running a business in your town. As Kylea pointed out you will need a business license.

If you are going to run and adult site there is a whole lot of legal information you need to know. You should probably even know this if you are just designing adult sites because most of the time your clients will not know what laws are involved with online adult businesses.

It usually takes me about 3-4 hours to cover everything that a webmaster/business owner needs to know and that is just highlighting everything. Here's some of what I cover...

    Obscenity
    Copyright
    Trademark
    18 USC 2257
    Contractual Agreements
    DMCA
    TOU
    Privacy Policies
    Model Releases
    Insurance
    Production issues...

I could go on... There's a lot to know.

Good luck and drop me a line if you need anything.
